Extraordinary bed and breakfast. Accommodating and quiet. Covered details like facial tissue boxes and extra pillows. Breakfast was different each of the three days. We liked the dogs there who were well behaved and friendly. This is a unique location right on the river with lounge chairs and centuries old oaks.

We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves! We look forward to having you again soon
Very nice older Inn on the river. Very relaxing to walk down by the river or have a seat and watch it flow by. Half a block to downtown square, Sexton Feed Mill, Snyders is next to the Inns parking lot. The location can’t be beat.
Breakfast was good and all the coffee you can drink.

Adorable and charming inn. The customer service was top notch and the breakfast had me cleaning my plate (I’m a picky eater). Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Stayed here twenty years ago and back this weekend for a basketball tournament in town. Pam was very welcoming! Breakfast was great! Room was peaceful and quite.
Very quaint, had the best nights sleep in a long time there! Close to Glen Rose's cut down town area and right on the river. And the best bacon I've ever had!
We are sorry you were disappointed in your stay. Please to use us some information so we can find out what went wrong and correct it. We haven’t been able to find a reservation under your name in the last several months so we can’t figure out the issue to resolve

Don't stay if you don't like dogs.
I guess I wasn't upbeat enough at check-in. Large dogs in the lobby I didn't pet the dog or gush about how much I love dogs. I like dogs as much as the next guy, but I don't think the check in lady thought that was enough. She didn't like me. The next morning at 6am there was what sounded like a radio alarm clock that went off -- in the room across the hall --blaring country music loud enough to wake up the whole place. That went on for about 20 minutes and then there was an insanely loud beeping sound coming from the room across the hall. Obviously no one was in there. Someone had set the alarm. Humm. Just because your paranoid doesn't mean their not out to get you. I swear she set those alarms and left them to go off.
Oh -- and the whole hallway upstairs smelled like wet dog.

We are so sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. I assure you no one my team would try to shame anyone for not loving our lobby furry employees. However if you felt that way see are sorry. I’ll make sure everyone who works check-in understands that our dogs aren’t always everyone’s favorite thing. As to the music and alarms - no one set anything to just bug you. We had guests in every room the night of your stay and apparently one of them has weird alarm habits. I am sorry it disrupted your sleep - but I certainly can’t help what other guests do with their phone alarms. I wish you had said something during your stay so that we could have resolved your experience. We pride ourselves on excellence and apparently we did not meet that standard for you. Perhaps next time
We are sorry you felt your stay wasn’t 10 out of 10. We are co tonguing to work to improve and we hope you will give us a chance in the future to show you that
This place is fantastic! my wife and I had a terrific stay. The owners and staff were fun a friendly and made us feel welcomed. It’s a great location and had great food for every meal.

I'm so sorry you weren't happy with your stay, you booked a room with a full size bed, we upgraded you to a queen bed. We worked hard to ensure that you had everything you needed and asked multiple times if you needed anything else. We are a small business that prides ourselves on excellent guest service. Yes we are an old historic building, if you were expecting something else, we needed to know. We did offer to cancel your booking and let you move elsewhere when you were disappointed in your checkin. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip in Texas and find what you are looking for....
The property itself is beautiful. Even though we were in a drought and the river was dry it was still a beautiful place to stay! Staff was extremely polite and welcoming!!
Very nice people and very pet friendly. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Good food choices for breakfast and dinner. Jyyjjehrhrehrehr hrehrehrehrehrherherehrehrheehrhrehrherheehrhrehrherehrehrehrehrrhehehehehehehrheehryjyyuurehrehrheheuheherherehrhejeh
The urine smell in the hallway was so strong it hurt your eyes and you had to hold your breath. Not sure if the two dogs inside was the cause but nursing homes smell better. For the price of over $175 per night, unacceptable.

We do apologize that you experienced the unpleasant odor. We can assure you it is not the norm of our property as you can see from other reviews. We also wish you had come directly to us with your disappointment so that we could compensate for the less than excellent situation. We are now in the process of refunding you for your stay. and Hope that in the future, you take the time to allow others who do provide an experience that doesn't meet your expectation to resolve it for you face to face, especially when you can tell that is not the norm of service provided.
A picturesque holiday setting and such a warm a welcoming reception upon arrive. Such a lovely place to visit and experience. Will definitely be back and highly recommend for weekend getaways.
The shower was tiny and the breakfast was ok at best. Read reviews and they all sounded great but overall it was mediocre.

As a historic hotel that is 103 years old, we do have smaller rooms and bathrooms. I wish I could make them grandiose, but that would not be in keeping with the TX registered historic landmark. As to breakfast, I'm not sure why you think it was just OK. Most of our guests rave over our waffles, if you were unhappy with the options, you could have spoken to our staff and we would have worked with you to make you something you would have enjoyed more.
Facility is beautiful. River was dry but grounds still beautiful. Also, inn is within walking distance to cute town square. Facility very clean and well kept. Air conditioning, plumbing, etc. in good working order. Will stay again.

This was an awesome experience. Our room was quaint and clean with a great view of the Paluxy River. Daily breakfast exceeded expectations and got us off to a great start each and every morning. Inn on the River is steps from the river, walking distance to downtown Glen Rose and a short drive to Fossil Rim. Check this place out if you want the perfect small town experience in the Glen Rose area.
I don’t know if it was because it was Easter weekend and they were swamped. No one was at the desk for check in. People who checked us were nice. Breakfast was so packed people were sitting in the lobby. Breakfast is whatever they create on the spot. There is no menu. they ran out of certain foods and just put something together for us. It was a mediocre breakfast. there is no tv in the rooms. Breakfast is from 8-10am. They were short staff so the wait was long for food. They need to rethink had to serve breakfast better. It was quiet for the most part. This is a dog friendly inn. So if you are allergic to dogs I highly recommend not coming here. Also dogs were in the area where you eat. I didn’t like this for sanitary reason because they would be drooling on the floor and beg food from you. Pet dander will be found on rug and floors. If this sort doesn’t bother you, you will enjoy your stay. The perks of the place is river in the back and kayaks and chairs to use and sit. The tavern restaurant was okay super slow service (due to short staff) they have good vegetarian options. When I put the sign for turned down service, I never received it. No fresh towels or clean sheets and when I went to the desk to get these things. No one there. Rang the bell. No one came. Needs better management in that dept. Everywhere you go in Glen Rose has super slow service. That’s just the culture in this town. Not worth the price we paid for in my opinion considering the service we received.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry your stay was not as pleasant as we usually provide. Like many businesses at this time, we are short staffed. We are working hard to resolve our check in issues. As to the dining room being busy - it is unusually when every guests eats at the same time when we provide a two hour window for breakfast, but that morning everyone did...
We felt like the room was not clean and an unpleasant smell.

Your room was clean, our housekeeping staff is top notch. However the building is 103 and at time when the humidity is high, the old wood releases it's years of collected scents
Very pleasant stay. My daughter was thrilled there were Dr Suess books available to borrow as we forgot to bring any. Nice to interact with other families like at a BnB. Very close to town and multiple restaurants.
