"The Clayton has an excellent location within easy walking distance to Edinbourg's attractions, the Castle etc. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. As seems to be common in European hotels the room was small but still very comfortable. The bathroom while spotless and modern was very small and it was like a sauna after taking a shower which was quite uncomfortable. The hotel does not have any parking. It has a discount arrangement with a parking garage which was nice but the garage itself is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. So all in all luggage dropoff and parking is a hassle.
Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again"
"What I liked: Very friendly and helpful staff, the free laundry room, huge breakfast (but pricey).
What I did not care for: too dark rooms with limited lighting, making it hard to see inside luggage, too dark halls, warm but not hot shower water, non-user friendly thermostat with no handy instructions, half-hearted toilet flushing, tricky TV streaming connections, not easy to use the stairs if one prefers to skip the very slow (1) elevator."
"This place is fantastic - great value, probably the best location for a hotel in the middle of the city, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Incredible value for money."
"The hotel was nice overall. It was used as an event venue so it was very busy. The room was spacious and clean. However the shower had no door and the rain shower head was located o the open side of the glass door. I made the show unusable as it would have completely flooded the room."
"Great staff, location, overall very good. 3 stars due to our room was a handicapped access room. All furniture was removed except the bed, that was 90 degrees from tv. Clean but sterile and not functional."
