I really liked the location and the peacefulness. By far the best part was the staff. The front desk employees handled the check-in and check-out very quickly and courteously. The restaurant staff were also excellent. The breakfast food tasted great, but everything was super cold. The hotel truly needs to invest in buying food warmers. It is a shame to have a beautifully cooked breakfast served cold. The room was spacious and very very clean. The refrigerator and coffee pot worked great. I always stay here when visiting GenSan, but hope they correct the breakfast issue.

The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Ms. Melody at the front desk was amazing. The free breakfast was also very good and the restaurant staff were excellent. I highly recommend staying at Hotel San Marco. Quiet, clean, outstanding staff, and close to everything

The hotel is super peaceful, clean, quiet, and near to everything. The front desk staff do an amazing job at handling all of your hotel needs. They are professional, courteous, and go out of their way to help you. Also, the woman that work at the breakfast also do an excellent job. I will certainly stay here again. Just an all around fantastic experience.

Overall my family had a good stay at Hotel San Marco. However, the room listing was inaccurate. I paid for a "two-bedroom family suite" which turned out to be a single room with two beds (this is how it appears in the video that plays in their lobby). I complained to the manager and she offered us another room (in addition to the one we reserved) free of charge. My son was very happy with the stay because he hates bugs and, aside from a few ants attracted by our fruits, we did not see any others in our room or the facility. We also liked the Spanish style ambiance and decor and the friendly staff.

Worst Hotel Ever. The announced breakfast is a joke, one single fried egg and that's it. You need to literally fight to get a 2nd or a 3rd one. When you ask for rice, staff says there is no more. The second after, a whole family a local Kababayans show up, woW! they get a really nice full plate full of rice ("no more" huh?!), full of meats and veggies and fruits :( Clearly some racism for white tourists in here, so shocking. Also every single day the hot water in the shower was not working, had to call twice for guys to fix it (first time they come they say it's fixed and when you're ready to jump it's still cold), so really annoying. The last day they could not even fix it the warm water, they gave me another room to go just shower to. HOTEL TO AVOID.

A decent affordable hotel
We arrived a little early and they accommodated us graciously. We booked a room with two queen beds for 3 adults and 1 infant. Room had 1 queen and 1 full size bed. Only towels for 2. Breakfast was nice. Although we booked for 3 adults the breakfast voucher was for only 2. Bed wasn't bad, the pillows were overstuffed and it was difficult to make them conform. The location worked well for us. The cost was reasonable so generally we got what we paid for with very friendly service.

Service is poor at the restaurant. They don’t clean the table. They don’t change the table cloth. Menu is very limited and it’s good for 1 week menu. Waiters are not attentive to hotel guests needs. The aircon is still window type. The noise of the aircon is horrible & it’s a nightmare. The next door is a karaoke bar that the people in there keeps singing until dawn.

Hotel San Marco A Winner in "PacMan's" Hometown
This Italian inspired hotel was a great find very near shopping malls and the Yellow Lines bus dropoff which was 6 blocks away. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the facility was meticulously maintained, even if the infrastructure outside the hotel was lacking. A functional and cheap gym is 3 blocks away. Plaza Heneral Santos is 3 blocks further. This property was a very solid and reasonably priced conso prize after the desired property 5 blocks away was totally sold out, as expected. Hotel San Marco is definitely worth its weight in a city and a country where hotel accommodations can be, sometimes, described as "wanting." This hotel merits heavy consideration when visiting GenSan. Grade: A.

Misleading Description of Amenities
I chose this location because this was a working vacation and having WiFi in the room was a must. When I checked-in the staff informed me that the connectivity in the room was hit or miss. It was a complete miss. I ended leaving after one day of a scheduled four day stay because I could get no work done. (I cannot work in the lobby). If network access is required during your stay, this hotel is not recommended.

Great hotel for great vacation
The hotel location is in the heart of Gensan ... close to most of the malls and the restaurant ... Delicious food wir H very reasonable prices... 24hrs House keeping ... friendly staff ... Clean rooms ... Air condition works good ... the only problem was the Wi-Fi ... They've to get another provider ... Definitely recommend ... My favorite hotel in Gensan!!!

Friendliest staff ever
Hotel San Marco has the friendliest staff I have experienced in my travels. The hotel is in the style of a traditional European hotel, so keep that in mind. Breakfast is free with your room and they have western and Phillipino dishes and they were good. The only things I would suggest is that some of the furniture in the rooms and lobby are broken and could use repairing or replacing, and the wifi didn't work on the second floor so I would upgrade.
