Our hostess Suman Raj met us with Chai on arrival and was wonderful throughout our stay
We were there during the Holi festival and she made all her guests a meal to celebrate
The guest house was spotless. It was off the main drag and was really quiet
It was a short walk to the temples and bodi tree
This will be my choice of places to stay the next time I’m in Bodgaya
Kundan Bazaar Guest House is a combination of excellent management, great guest services, ideal location and peerless value for the traveler's budget. I dare you to find a better deal in all of India. The staff is attentive and polite. The location was just right for access to the temple complex and surrounding areas of interest on the Buddhist circuit. The guest house was well run and all my needs were met. I will be back.
To get Maha Bodi Temple,It was good by walking whthin 20 mins.
And i thanks for fresh the food when I got moning, and kindness is happened one of member of the staff.
And the hostel is quiet.
Suraj welcomes you at the reception with an offer of tea or coffee. Very clean room and restroom. A free bottle of water provided in your room. 25 minute walking distance to Mahabodhi, and the neighborhood is pretty safe. I strongly recommend this stay.
Car booking was changed from big car to small car although the higher price had been sold and forcefully explained to me on the basis of the car being larger. Of course price was not reduced when smaller car showed up so this was a conscious decision. Car ended up breaking down half way to Varanasi but the manager recovered very nicely I must say, even checking on us personally to ensure we had safely arrived 6 hours later.
A definite place to stay while in Bodh Gaya. The center of town is extremely noisy, and this hostel is a 15-minute walk from town in a quiet village. The staff is delightful and helpful, and the hostel was started a number of years ago by a Belgian. For $10 a night, I had my own single room with twin beds (very clean) wifi in room, breakfast included, overhead fan, bathroom, boiling pot for hot water, and there is a restaurant on the roof with views, and gift shop on ground floor. 14 km to airport; cost for a tuk tuk about $4.
Ask for room on top 3rd or 4th floors, some also come with A/C.
It's a great bargain, and you'll be glad you are not staying in the loud crazy center.
The location isn't great, but they provide bicycles free which is a really nice way to see the area. The cleanliness is really great for what you pay. For an American, the bed was a bit firm. The AC was loud. Together those made it hard to sleep. But the service is extraordinary! We were unwell from a medicine we were taking. They worked SO hard to help us and make us comfortable! I give it a HIGH recommend.
quiet area, quiet sleep except for when weddings are happening...bed comfort ok, clean, nice folks that help these are pluses; cons sketchy wifi, not just up and down but on its back for 48 hour straight, sent only two emails by grace...a distance from town so the tax fare round trip twice a day needs to be included in the room price and by the way for what you get the rooms aren't cheap! no phones in room so if you need something from desk and your located on third or 4th floor ...well you get what I mean...good free breakfast...next time I stay closer to town
We think this is a very good guest house. We stayed here 1 night in November 2014. The hotel is located in a small village about 1 km from the centre of town – an easy 15 minute walk through rice paddies.
Our room was small but clean and functional. The bed was comfortable. There was no problem with noise.
Breakfast was very good and so was the dinner.
The washroom was clean and functional.
We certainly would consider staying at the Kundan if we were to visit Bodh Gaya in the future.
ROOM IS CLEAN AND FUNCTIONAL.
FOODS ARE SERVED AT THE ROOF TOP AND DELICIOUS.
GOOD POINT OF THIS GUEST HOUSE IS THAT STUFFS ARE SO FRIENDLY.
AND I BECAME FRIENDS WITH THE MANAGER.
HE TRY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE ,ESPECIALLY VILLAGE PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE WATER SUPPLY AND ELECTRICITY ,SO ON.
I WAS INTERESTED IN HIS ACTIVITY ,THUS I ASKED HIM TO ALLOW ME TO DO SOME KINDS OF CONTRIBUTION.
HE RECOMMENDED ME TO DONATE BLANKETS TO THE VILLAGE PEOPLE.
HE KINDLY TOOK ME TO THE VILLAGE IN COUNTRY SIDE ,AND I DISTRIBUTED BLANKET TO NEEDY PEOPLE.
IN MY OPINION,PLEASURE OF JOURNEY IS NOT JUST SEEING TEMPLES OR VISITING SIGHTSEEING SPOTS ,BUT COMMUNICATION WITH LOCAL PEOPLE AND KNOWING THEIR CUSTOMS.
IF YOU WANT TO HAVE THIS KINDS OF EXPERIENCE ,THIS GUEST HOUSE IS IDEAL PLACE.
IN CASE YOU STAY IN FIVE STAR HOTEL ,MAYBE YOU CANNOT HAVE SUCH EXPERIENCES.
We stayed here for two nights in July. They are located about a 15 minute walk to the main temples and main part of town.
Our original room with a double bed was too small to fit our two big backpacks anywhere, so we got a larger room with two twin beds and much more floor space. There was a small balcony overlooking the neighboring buildings. Lots of hot water, but the showerhead wasn’t really working so we just used the faucet for bathing. Very helpful staff, especially the two teen brothers at the front desk and restaurant who made our stay especially pleasant. Rooftop restaurant and breakfast is included.
