"Possibly the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I didn’t receive the check in instructions, so on arriving had to spend around an hour trying to figure things out. There are no staff at the property and the phone number on their website is incorrect. Room had no bin, no mirror or tea & coffee facilities. This is a basic. "I had a very nice stay at the Open Arms Hotel. The staff were very welcoming and made me feel at home. The room was first class with a view over the village green and very comfortable.
The lounge area with the open fire is lovely and relaxing being able to have a pre- dinner drink and review the menu.
It was a very enjoyable stay and will definitely be returning again in the very near future."

"We called the property to check if it would be ok to arrive at 10pm - after the stated check-in hours. We were told this would be fine. On arriving at 10pm, we were told “we were cutting it fine” and were given the key to the room. Not exactly a warm welcome. "The Highland cows were very cute. It would be nice if there was information about the cows, like names and ages. There were weeds in the plant pots in front of the cabin - would be nice if they were flowers! The bed was very soft but that’s just my opinion.
The cabin was very quiet and the scenery was wonderful!
Parking was easy. Location was good - parked at Newcraighall park and ride and took the train into Edinburgh!"

"This was the perfect hotel as it was close to a train station literally 3 min walk from the hotel and the train would get you to the centre of Edinburgh. The room was amazing, so was the staff and tge food was delicious!"

"The property was in poor condition, it looks like a small restaurant that has been converted to be a b and b. The room was very small and the bed (although it was a double) was small as well. The toilet handle was hanging off and didn’t flush properly without a bit of effort. It looks like it hasn’t been redecorated in a long time and the tv in the room was no bigger than a shoe box.
The staff member we met was very helpful and had a very good attitude, but I think he is fighting a loosing...
