DO NOT STAY AT Zum Schweizerbartl Hotel !
We were EXTEMELY dissatisfied with the Zum Schweizerbartl hotel. When we arrived to check in, the hotel was dark, the front door was locked, the back door was locked, and nobody was there. It was starting to get dark and cold, and thank goodness our taxi driver (Martin Weiss - great guy!) stayed to make sure we were ok. We tried calling the hotel several times but no answer, finally Martin took us back to town and found us an alternative hotel. We are very very dissatisfied with Zum Schweizerbartl and are working on obtaining a refund of our money for 3 nights. We do NOT recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

Einmal und nie wieder!
Wir sind in diesem Gasthof abgestiegen, da Freunde von uns in der Nähe ein grosses Fest gefeiert haben. Die zwei Nächte waren allerdings kein Vergnügen. Der Empfang unfreundlich, dies zog sich durch beide Tage. Man hatte immer das Gefühl man stört das Personal. Auch wenn eine gewisse bayrische Ruppigkeit nett sein kann, ist dies nicht mehr darunter einzuordnen. Gegipfelt hat das ganze darin, dass man nicht nur nichts aufs Zimmer schreiben kann sondern auch noch 2 Euro extra verlangt werden, wenn man zwei Gläser Wein mit Karte zahlen möchte. Da wir direkt aus der Schweiz kamen und keine Euro dabei hatten mussten wir diese Strafgebühr zahlen. Die Zimmer sind recht abgewohnt, die Matratze hat wohl schon sehr viele Gäste beherbergt und die Strasse vor der Tür ist mehr eine Autobahn als Bundesstrasse. Ab 5h selbst bei geschlossenem Fenster laut. Das recht neue Bad war ok, allerdings wurde uns ein Handtuch was eindeutig zum Wechseln auf dem Boden lag einfach zum trocknen aufgehängt und kein Neues hingelegt. Wir werden sicher hier nicht mehr nächtigen.

Great German BNB.
Strictly German, no English menus in the restaurant but they were very helpful in selecting food and wine and beer.
Beautiful building and facilities in the German countryside. Easy access to all surrounding sights for our trip.

Zum Schweizerbartl
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Zum Schweizerbartl. Our host greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our room. The room was clean and had a nice view. The bathroom had been upgraded and was very nice. The location was about 10 minutes out of Garmish on the road to Innsbruck. So I would recommend it to those who have a car. The wifi was somewhat weak, so don't count on it for video, otherwise fine.

Very Comfortable Gasthaus!
This Gasthaus hotel is about 3 miles outside the main Town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Rooms were large, comfortable, with private bath. Restaurant was very good; locals eat here. With car, it is easy to visit local attractions; Zugspitze, NeuSchwanstein, Linderhof Castle, or Innsbruck, Austria. Scenery is spectacular!

Lovely and Cozy Hotel
Lovely hotel, well-maintained with clean room & bathroom. Everything exactly or even better than shown in the pictures. Had dinner at the restaurant which was nice. Yet it was full house but they just had 2 waiter/waitress serving the tables, and we needed to wait for some time for a waiter for ordering and checking out.
Overall it was a nice experience.

Comfortable stay with a great restaurant.
This is a very comfortable hotel just outside the town. The food and staff were great. If you don't have a car the cab fares can get expensive, but there is a bus stop just a short walk from the hotel which is much more practical.

The hotel is rather new and convenient, in Bavarian style. The breakfast is very good. The hotel is located just near the highway. So it is very easy to reach by car. However, if your room looks at the road, you cannot open the window during night, because it will be noisy. The room had no refrigerator.
