The historic charm of the inn, complemented by its modern comforts, created an ambiance of complete relaxation for me and my family. The location is ideal for anyone looking to explore the Thousand Islands, with easy access to boat tours and the quaint downtown. Plus, the owners are amazing! We will go back there for sure!

Very lovely place with wonderful hosts. Breakfast isn't up to the standard of the rest of the place, but that's not a big negative, and they're working on it.

Lovely getaway
It was a wonderful get away place. Beautifully decorated. Clean. Good size breakfast hamper. Owners and staff were very attentive - really nice people. Everything you needed!

The host is a very nice man! The room is very clean and so quiet. It is pity that no bathtub in the room. Breakfast is cold food, not suitable for Chinese people

I would highly recommend this Inn for multiple reasons. The owners are simply amazing human beings, very nice people that make you feel like an old friend that is visiting. The beauty of this house, how it was renovated with such taste and authenticity. Our room was so beautiful and inviting, made you want to stay for ever. I am having a hard time putting my feelings about this wonderful in words. I would not change a thing from my stay, and I cannot wait to go back. The restaurant that is also located in the Inn is nothing short of excellent, the choice that is offered on the menu is exactly like the Inn, simply perfect.

We booked the Inn through expedia for our anniversary weekend. We were not disappointed. The main house and the rooms were beautiful and clean, the owners were polite, happy, and remembered our names for the entire weekend. ( Trust me that is a big deal). The breakfast coolers had fresh fruit, homemade muffins and croissants, and I would highly recommend reserving a time for their in house restaurant. The food is to die for, it may be expensive but you only live once, and it does not disappoint. Overall fantastic stay.

This review is more about expectations, the Woodview Inn is NOT a bed and breakfast. Unfortunately, I should have done my research better. It is a beautiful Inn with a fully licensed restaurant. Which means you cannot consume your own alcohol except in your room or a little strip of grass overlooking the back parking lot. We had booked one of the garden suites and it felt more like a small hotel room, unfortunately it didn’t have that old Victorian charm. I think we would have had a better experience if we had booked a room in the main house and at the same time made a reservation for dinner. The good thing is, it was an easy walk in to town. They do give you a complimentary breakfast cooler the night before (it consists of a croissant, apple, banana, granola bar, little package of cheese, yogurt, orange juice and Prosecco). In the morning we were allowed to take our cooler to their dining room and eat it there where we would be served coffee and tea. Unfortunately for us what we were really looking for was a B&B with a hot breakfast and a little place to sit outside in a garden/veranda and have a glass of our own wine. It’s not the Inn keepers fault I didn’t do my due diligence they were very nice people and the main house is beautiful inside. I’m guessing the dinner must be fabulous because they are booked weeks in advanced.

Thank you for the review. We are sorry that parts of your stay didn't meet expectations, but we are very happy that you acknowledge we make every effort to be very transparent about our offerings. Unfortunately we are unable to offer hot breakfasts as that would require two more full kitchen teams and the cost of food is very high as is wastage. Staffing issues are still prevalent since covid, and the lasting effects of the pandemic have not and will not go away anytime soon. We hope you will have the opportunity to visit us again and experience an evening meal or Sunday brunch soon in our restaurant!

Beautiful place but poor AC.
Quality of the decor and everything in the room was excellent. Unfortunately the inadequate air conditioning meant I had a very poor sleep. Possibly own error - small switch on the AC unit had switched off the cooling compressor so it worked only as a fan. Figured it out in the morning when it was too late. I wish the host that showed us our room had pointed this out. Room was very hot when we checked in.

Thank you, Thomas, for your review. It is unfortunate that you did not mention the room was hot to the host when you entered the room. The host would have easily addressed the situation immediately. Also, the owners provide contact information so they may be reached at any time. If you noticed the room was not cooling down, it is again unfortunate that there was no mention to anyone until you wrote this review. All our AC units work and are checked regularly.

It was a pleasure to stay in a well-kept heritage building with all modern conveniences. The hosts were friendly and gracious, and seemed to have considered every guest's needs. Location is excellent for accessing Gananoque's attractions. Would definitely return.

What was very unique and special was the breakfast cooler they prepared for us. Such a novel idea! Really loved it. Also appreciated the black face cloths in the bathroom to remove make up. Very thoughtful and smart! Not many hotels think of that. All in all a wonderful stay.

John and Stephen are gracious and friendly hosts who make their guests feel so welcome. The main house is very tastefully decorated and they have paid attention to every detail. The biggest downside was the horrible mattresses. They are the softest mattresses I have ever slept in. My partner almost rolled out as there was no support at the edges. Both my partner and I dreaded sleeping in the bed the second night. Hopefully they upgrade the mattresses soon.

Perhaps you are used to a much firmer mattress, and you must appreciate that we try to accommodate, and make comfortable, all of our guests. We had a wonderful stay at the Inn. The staff, especially Robin, were friendly and attentive. The owner, John, was very personable and offered many great ideas for things to do in the area. We had an issue with the toilet and it was taken care of immediately. We loved the location, the room and the breakfast delivered to our door every morning. The restaurant was also delicious. I highly recommend The Woodview Inn!

The atmosphere was really very home like yet very classy. The outdoor patio was magical. We could have sat out there for hours. Everyone who we met that worked there was more than accommodating. It was a perfect place for a quiet get away.

We enjoyed our stay at Woodview as we travelled in Canada. The room was clean and well appointed. The staff was friendly and gracious. We had dinner which was wonderfully prepared and served. We will return!!

Delightful, quaint property in a charming area. Stayed here and toured the Thousand Islands. Robyn was engaging, food was delicious. Owners were on site if anything needed. Would definitely stay there again.

Quick visit - will have to return
Lovely inn in lovely setting - very comfortable beds in or garden room, we appreciated the breakfast basket! Beautiful area with friendly people

Staff was so incredibly nice. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Rooms were so clean and inviting. Will definitely be coming back for a longer stay next time.
