Such an incredibly beautiful property, the rooms had such beautiful Dutch old world charm. If you have the budget spurge and get the Admiral Suite. It’s huge!!!!!! I felt like a true queen with it all to myself. I also opted for the full board. As with many other I can confirm the food is outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a delightful stay. If you’re thinking booking just go ahead and book it.

Amazing experience, I will be back!

I loved this hotel so much. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean and historic. The pool was amazing and the grounds were great. Above all of it was that the staff was so incredible. They were helpful and kind. I was traveling alone and the restaurant manager was completely helpful to me, giving me tips and also prepared a special seafood meal for me that was one of the best i have ever had. I will definitely come back here next time im in Sri Lanka!

Great hotel and service. Only 12 rooms so a very personalized experience and fantastic staff. Only a 5 minute walk to amazing sunset views near jetwig lighthouse

A beautiful property, the highlight was dinner in the garden, and the monkeys jumping from tree to tree around the pool, the children loved it, we wished we had stayed for longer than 1 night. This is the second time we have tried Asia Leisure properties and they always meet all our expectations.

Beautiful, tranquil hotel with lush gardens

This is a superb hotel in every way. The plantation home is full of charm, interesting architecture and furnishings. The gardens, pool and courtyards are beautiful, tranquil, and full of wildlife and flowers. While we had a cocktail overlooking the pool, we saw a parade of monkeys, wild peacocks, and many other birds. The rooms are spacious and gorgeous, as are the bathrooms, and everything is in impeccable condition. Finally, the restaurant food (we had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts at the hotel) was excellent.

A beautiful old hotel. The architecture is stunning. The pool area is especially lovely. The staff are the best I have experienced in a long time; very accommodating... always there with a smiling face ready to help you. The bar men serve the best Dry Martini's in Sri Lanka! I highly recommend staying here if you want to be out of Galle Fort for a change.

WORK TO DO

Overall an ok visit. Staff were good. Very quiet with only 1 other couple there for 1 of the 2 nights. Plenty of staff there and I wonder why the pool could not have been cleaner. It was a poor look!!!. The top edges of the pool were too dirty all around and surely with no guests it should have been pristine. As for the room... my door had a very low height which is bizarre. I whacked my head twice before i could see the prolem !!! Please warn your tall guests. Also, the bathroom was like a sauna and very uncomfortable. Once again..why ??? You rate yourself 5 star..Mmm. Big room could have had a desk, no wine glasses there, old small fridge, bathroom has a crazy big shower area so water went everywhere. Be ok if u have a cricket team staying in the room. They could have a shower and sauna at the same time. Aircon unit in room very noisy too. Upside was the bar and the food I had was excellent.

A Haven of peace

This former British officer's mansion is an amazing place to stay near Galle's...less than 5 minutes by tuk tuk...I love the high ceilings in the lobby and the rooms.. Everything was super clean and the service wonderful. We even had a peacock in the garder entertaining us during breakfast. I really enjoyed the long swimming pool. It was nice to relax there😀

Fantastic setting

The hotel was absolutely excellent, very comfortable, lovely staff, amazing breakfast and a beautiful pool area. It’s slightly out of town but a short tuk tuk ride away from the main sights and worth it for the historic building and setting.

Old School Charm

Hotel was set on beautiful grounds. The pool, outside bar and courtyard were amazing. Rooms were spacious and the private back gardens were a nice touch. Breakfast was wonderful and would recommend pre-ordering the Sri Lankan breakfast and eating outside in the morning! You might even see a peacock if you get lucky!

lovely setting with beautiful grounds, nice pool and very spacious, clean rooms. Staff all very friendly and attentive. Quite a lot of mosquitos in the gardens so take some spray.

Historic Gem

Really amazing colonial hotel set on the hill just outside Galle. The hotel only has 10 rooms, all of significant portions, and each room is wonderfully decorated. Nothing much surrounding the area, so prepare to Tuk Tuk to Galle for any activities/supplies you may need. Hotel staff were very friendly.

Oasis in hectic Galle

We stayed just one night on our journey from the south back to Galle. Great hotel where it was easy to imagine you were back in colonial Ceylon. Rooms very comfortable, huge bed with great pillows (not always the case in Sri Lanka). Stunning pool. Great food served in the restaurant at sensible prices. Quiet place to stay so if there for more than one night you may choose to eat somewhere else. Just 10 mins by tuc tuc to the fort

Exquisite pampering experience in old colonial hou

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and were treated to a special dinner by the hotel staff. The hotel is full of charm and ambience. The staff are always trying to find ways to make you happy. It was my return to Ceylon after 60 years after leaving as a 4 year old boy. We enjoyed a jungle tour by boat behind the hotel and saw many monkeys birds and beautiful plants. The pool was excellent. One of the highlights for my wife was feeding the wild peacock.

Spacious.

The room was spacious and quiet with a little courtyard but there were alot of mosquitos and the toiletries and towels were not replenished. Staff went above and beyond. Breakfast was great.
