There's a community kitchen available which was nice. It was quiet and conveniently located. There is no elevator.

This wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. Convenient location in the heart of the city and next to the market. The room was very basic. The shower flooded the first time I used it because the curtain covered the hole and the water rose quickly. If you open the windows, there is the smell from a kitchen frying food outside. But it is budget accommodation in the heart of the city.

A nice hotel in the very center of Funchal with everything at hand. I was pleasantly surprised by daily room cleaning and towel change, as well as common kitchen where you can get utensils and plates. The building is in the old district so it's not the most modern, which goes for furniture as well. Everything was functional, the beds were comfortable. The sound isolation is not good, but in the night there is quiet period as well as no traffic on the street so no issues with noise. Only bad thing i noticed is extremely dim lights in the room, which made it a bit too dark after sunset.

Good Value Central Hotel

Friendly staff on check in and great location, especially for the price. A little dated inside but characterful and comfortable nonetheless. Nice balconies and shutters, at least on the front facing rooms.

Property is in a great location and clean. However the major problem is reception is only manned a few hours a day so the chances are you will have to call a Portuguese number upon arrival to give you an access code to get into the property. This was very stressful as my phone could not dial an international number so I had to borrow a phone.

Cleanliness has room of improvement. There are ants in room and blood stain and hair were found in linen and towel. After telling the hotel staff, cleaning lady has made the room more tidy

It was horrible. They claim to have a 24/7 reception but when we arrived in the night, there was no one there. It took 17 minutes of calling numbers before the owner picked up the phone. It took another 20 minutes before he called us back to give us a code to enter the building (which hadn’t been send before at expedia). The rooms were old, stain on the bed. But we were glad that we had a place to stay for the night.
