Good spot for a couple of nights to break up a long journey. Very clean room, huge bathroom and great facilites/kitchen. Out of hours check in was made very easy too. I would definitely recommend staying here

I shared a 4 bed dorm with my teenage kids. Spot, well designed and all the little things thought of. Kitchen has everything you could need. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Very clean, modern and comfortable stay! Appreciated the TV room, common room with games, a fireplace and lots of seating. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious, my highlight was the sauna which was inside the hostel that was delightful and warmed me after a cold hike. I also loved that my en-suite bathroom had both an extractor fan and heater too which was a nice touch.

I had a good stay. The staff was friendly. The hostel is well located and the room was warm and nice. But as seems to be the problem in other Haka Houses, the corridor, bathroom and lounge were freezing.

Our twin room with ensuite room was clean and tidy. Bathroom space was not utilised and did not provide shelf/counter space or hooks for two. The kitchen was atrociously out of date in comparison to the rest of the place, which was clean and pleasantly decorated. Large communal area was cold, asked to have the big gas fire place turned on when 2bus loads of extra people arrived - an oil heater was added to the communal area.

Beds were comfortable, quiet at night. We had workmen making building noise (banging, drilling) outside our room for both afternoons, which was really annoying and hopeless given the cost of the room. Overall, clean and well run, weird having to put our sheets out with the room cost!

Well appointed comfortable dorm with 4 bunk beds, storage, curtains and individually compartmentalized. We were a family of 7 and with kids. Kids had a ball, large expansive kitchen with games section adjourning and the best but is it is a stone's throw away from the town with all the dining options avail.

Great location and hostel has huge potential to be so nice.. rooms and bathrooms were clean on arrival but unfortunately they are severely understaffed and can see the affects after a day or two (no toilet paper and kitchen/bathrooms are disgusting). Not a reflection on current staff who were very nice but something management needs to look at.

Fantastic property, clean, super comfortable beds in the family room, lovely ensuite. Just remember your passports for check in. We only had our Canadian driver licenses & it threw a spanner in the works and made check in a nightmare, despite having prepaid for the room.
