Can’t say enough positive things about this place. The staff and service was fabulous, the rooms were so comfy (we loved sitting on our balcony enjoying a cup of coffee and listening to the birds), and the food was great! Self serve laundry was an added cherry on top.

Location is lovely. Few minutes walk into the small town but you feel like you’re in the rainforest with the rooms backing directly onto foliage. We had a twin Queen room and loved it. Spotlessly clean with amazing comfy beds and linen. Fab shower. Loved the bird song which was piped through the tv - lovely welcome. Dinner and breakfast included both of which were excellent quality although the choice was not that large for dinner. Few patrons (including us) commented about the slow service especially drinks at dinner but the staff were lovely.

We loved our stay at Te Waonui. The staff were friendly and engaging immediately making us feel comfortable and welcome. The pre-fixed 5 course dinner was a fantastic deal and the quality of the food was excellent. The rooms are lovely and it is nice to have a pleasant view each morning when awaking. Highly recommend this hotel.

Staff was sooo friendly and helpful. Rooms have a whole wall of floor to ceiling windows to enjoy incredible views. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Great being able to do our laundry in self serve laundry room. When the road was suddenly closed to Queenstown due to weather damage, we turned back around and stayed here again! Love it!

The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Beyond that, I have to agree with other reviewers who mentioned that this property simply does not warrant the exorbitant rates. The room was unremarkable, as was the breakfast. Both mornings, the eggs were cold, and the pancakes were crunchy and appeared to have been frozen and poured from a box. Overall, these meals were quite disappointing. The service at dinner was quite good, but we were thankful to have only two meals there as the options were limited, particularly for vegetarians. Sadly I would not consider this to be a luxury property and would recommend.
