The room was good and clean. Soundproofing could be better but overall a good hotel. Very close to the houptbahnhof and about 10 minutes walk to the main shops.
We checked in which was very quick. Got to the room and we found a hole in the wall, dead bug on the floor, holes in the floor and cigarette burns on the bathroom vanity.
great Breakfast Buffet, quiet room, blue anti stress lights in room, no complain, clean, all went perfect, hot water to boil and make my tea was available, very generous property.
Nothing commendable about this venue. Staff were polite. Just. Even the low price is too much to pay.

UPtown Downtown was fantastic
Wonderful check & check out experience with welcoming Silvio at reception, very helpful with tips for Frankfurt travel and sights. The lovely couple running the breakfast buffet were outstanding and always had the most beautiful breakfast set up for the hotel, we looked forward to it every morning. Thank you all for making our stay a positive experience.
Room tidy and comfortable. Outside noise is constant

The staff were nice. The breakfast was very good. The facilities were not the best, but were clean. The area around the hotel is very much a redlight district.
Good alternative near Frankfurt Messe and Old Town
Nice acomodation, friendly staff, very close to main train station. Not so family oriented neighborhood, but if you are traveling without children, it´s ok.

Of course you can't expect a high classl 4 star hotel, but absolutely worth it for the price.
Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Furnishing and equipment was ok with nice ambient lighting. Only the refrigerator was not working. Stuff was friendly and it's super close to central station. Great for a short stay.
The hotel itself was great. Very near to the station which was what we were after, the room was clean and tidy, though some of the flooring was quite damaged on the 5th floor where we stayed. We loved the decor of the hotel which was very well done.
The only downside was that the hotel is surrounded by strip clubs and walking back to the hotel in the evening did not always feel totally safe. This is not the hotel’s fault but worth thinking about if you are travelling alone.
Staff were courteous and we were checked in quickly. They also held our bags before check into we could explore which was great.
Overall, a good experience - it’s shame about the neighbourhood!
Nice hotel and nice staff but located in the middle of drug users area. There is no parking at the hotel, only public parking hall about 400 m away and only for cars (not allowed for motorbikes). Staff very nice and helpful and pretty good breakfast. Clean and nice facilities.
The sector is kind of a redlight, the floors are broken, the rooms are too small, the sextor is so noisy at night. The staff is however, professional.

Stayed here whilst visiting Frankfurt for the Euros. Very convenient for a football trip and of limited concerns for a group of men. It is however in the centre of the red light district and during the evening it gets busy and noisy. During the day it is quite dirty and we observed extensive public drug abuse.
I loved the staff, by far. my favorite part. The room was spacious, the area lighting could be better, but the LEDs were fun. The surrounding night life gets pretty rowdy, but I can guarantee your safe inside with these guys.

These hotel itself is very nice and so are the staff.
The problem is the location or rather the people who hang around the streets in this location. I am a solo traveler so I wasn't too concerned but it may be concerning to others. The AC did not work, probably because the hotel had isolated it due to the cool temperature outside but the street noise was too great to leave a window open.

Grand Hotel was a strange stay. The hotel itself was quite nice, and our room was quaint, clean, and well lit. The bed was not very comfortable and the comforter did not cover both of our bodies (there is a spare in the closet, though). The staff were kind and helped us in storing our luggage for the day. However, the location around the hotel is pretty sketchy. On our way into the hotel, I was catcalled multiple times and witnessed many scenes of drug use. The street that this hotel is on is infamous for red light district and drugs. The addicts will keep to themselves, but the fact is that the street is so uncomfortable. A shame for this nicer hotel to be in such a bad area.

arrived late after 3 hour train delay & pouring with rain & shocked at surroundings. at first I thought hotel closed & boarded up with unsavoury characters sheltering in alcoves but eventually found front door. check in strange as I normally provide a preprinted label but receptionist insisted I complete the form in handwriting (explaining “you’ve probably noticed it’s a difficult area & I need your handwriting “!). he explained “lift out of action as you’ve been notified” - which I hadn’t- so at age 81 I had to drag suitcases to THIRD floor . I noticed floors on first and second floors in poor repair. this is more like a young people’s hostel than a hotel. However breakfast was of exceptional quality- don’t recommend

Location:The Grand Hotel Downtown is situated in a red-light district, an area known for prostitution and drug activity. This location is highly unsuitable for families and raises significant safety concerns, particularly at night.
Safety:Given the neighborhood's reputation, it is unsafe to go out, especially after dark. This could be a major concern for guests, affecting their overall comfort and security.
Amenities:The hotel is conveniently located near many restaurants and grocery stores, which is a positive aspect. Its proximity to the central station also makes commuting easy.
Hotel Experience:
Staff: The reception staff are friendly and helpful.
Rooms: Rooms are spacious but lack air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable during summer.
Towels: Towels are old and in need of replacement.
Beds: The beds are comfortable.
Housekeeping: Housekeeping services are good.
Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi is reliable and performs well.
Cleanliness: The hotel’s cleanliness is above average.
Breakfast: The buffet breakfast offers a good variety for €12.
Bathroom: The bathroom is functional but features a curtain more suited for a regular window rather than a bathroom.
Overall Rating: 6/10
