"We loved our room which was very comfortable, charming and had various amenities to make our stay enjoyable. "Honestly, the only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because they didn’t fight my refund. The room was filthy. Patched dirty and stained carpet. It felt moist on my feet. Mattresses from 1972. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the paint was bubbling and coming off of the ceiling. I spent 3 minutes trying to find a redeeming quality. It just got worse. I had my kids. I could spend 25 minutes in that room even it was free. Then the staff checked the room and asked why we used the bed. We didn’t “use” the bed, we were checking for bed bugs. There’s the redeeming quality. No bed bugs."

"Room was clean, and the staff was friendly. I specifically chose this property because it advertised an outdoor pool. Unfortunately, the pool was empty for the entire 11 days of my stay. It would have been helpful to know this in advance so I could have chosen a different property that offered the amenities I was looking for."

"The electronic key wouldn’t open the door. The front desk person opened it with a master key and said we have trouble with this one. I tried it again with my key & it wouldn’t open. I asked her what happens if I go out? She said I could call her and she would open it. I told her I’d like another room. They did give me another room. It wasn’t clean. The mirror had dried liquid that had ran down the mirror. The tub was dirty. There were bugs coming out of the drain of the sink and the towels were stained. I would not recommend this place."

"This property is a motel, not a hotel. The bathroom and shower contained visible mold, including black mold. The bed linens were worn and yellowed, and the lack of sheer curtains required the blackout shades to remain closed at all times for privacy. The entry door had a large gap with no weatherstripping, allowing insects into the room. Basic conveniences were lacking, including bedside outlets on one side of the bed and an in-room safe. The closet door could not fully open because it was obstructed by the nightstand. As a motel, there was no common area available after 10:00 p.m. As a result, our group had to bring chairs from our rooms and gather in the parking lot. The advertised complimentary breakfast consisted of a loaf of bread, packets of instant oatmeal, and coffee. Most concerning, this property was promoted as the nicest hotel in San Angelo. I had reserved three rooms, yet every guest in my party checked out a day early and relocated to the Courtyard by Marriott due to the poor condition of the accommodations and the overall guest experience."
