The Garrison

"Overpriced! Hard to locate registration desk. Lady at registration was rushed and gave unclear instructions. Had to go outside, around the building, through a blocked off construction zone and carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs - NO elevator/lift. Told same lady at checkout how inconvenient it was and all she said was, “We said we have construction and we sent you an email.” That information merely said, “We have construction that will cause disruption during daytime hours and we will try to keep it to a minimum.” NOTHING about trudging through a dirt construction zone with luggage and no elevator! Should have received a discount but none was offered. BEWARE!"

"Very poor and run down hotel. Wifi did not work. No hot water. Asked multiple staff members for assistance and was told they would look into it. Walls were very thin and could hear people closing doors, etc. Glad we only booked one night."

"Excellent Hotel ideally located within 5 minute walk of Fort William railway station. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Very impressive self service breakfast with everything well prepared and cooked. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly."

"Hotel staff was amazingly helpful and kind. The beach pods were a unique experience, so well designed and it felt so special to hear the sound of the waves. Great value for money. Definitely recommend!"
Loch Leven Hotel & Distillery

"The hotel is a quaint building overlooking the Loch. We had a lake view room which was quite spacious. However, the building is very tired. It took three tries to flush the toilet. There was no hairdryer and teeny tiny shampoo and conditioner bottles. This was different than other hotels in Scotland."

"It was a safe place to stay the night on our way to the Isle of Mull. It was not updated but clean. Lots of stairs which was typical. The staff on site was very helpful."

Base Camp Hotel Nevis Range

"If you’re just looking for beds and a shower, it’s fine. We stayed in a family room that slept six. The beds were comfortable enough. However, the room was stuffy and there is no air conditioning. We tried to open the single window and discovered a lot of knats. So we smashed them and decided not to open the window since there are no screens. They did provide two fans in the room, so we made do with that for the one night we stayed. In the morning we went out to put our bags in the car and there were knats everywhere, like hundreds of thousands of them. And we found out that they bite. They obviously got into the car while we were loading it and we had to try to get them out while we drove away. This is enough to make me never want to visit there again :/"
