Website is deceiving, this is not a resort like advertised. It is individually owned places managed by a resort. You have to come prepared with food and water. Getting towels at pools by the condos were a constant problem. The views were beautiful and lots of great wildlife to enjoy watching.

My kids and I just got home from a spring break trip to South Seas. At first, I was a bit frustrated as I had asked for a crib/pack and play a week prior and I had to chase one down. Additionally, the floors of our condo weren't clean and no one addressed it. However, the hospitality and amenities otherwise were incredible. I felt comfortable being there with my kids and they had a blast. Our room overlooked the bay, which provided beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We had plentiful space and there was so much to do. My daughter never got tired of the pools, beach, and restaurants. I would stay here again!

The floors of our room were filthy, and all the cushions of the couches and chairs were stained. We asked for extra sheets and put those over the couch before sitting or it. Floors were never mopped and there were dust bunnies in all the corners. Kitchen was ok, but non stick pans were heavily scratched so we couldn’t use them. Can’t beat the beach view and the overall atmosphere of Captiva island. The accommodations by south seas were not up to par with what some other HOAs in south seas island can offer. I’d rather have a time share in another HOA in south seas and give up the amenities than stay in the south seas units again.

This is a 3 Star resort charging 4-5 Star prices, including a $40 resort fee per person, which is pretty high for a place under construction, without good walking paths, and charging very high prices for all food and drinks. Our floors had been swept, but not mopped - my feet got filthy walking barefoot in our room and I had to wash them just to get into bed. The beach is very nice, the pools are very nice, the staff is very nice, but overall, we had a mediocre experience and would not recommend this to our friends.

Our unit need a lot of attention. The property has much more construction going on still - more that they explained when I called to check. Somehow we got checked in before we even arrived, which was concerning. The app for activities gives very little info and the employees don’t have any knowledge of them either- we couldn’t figure out where to go for our kayak excursion. The water sports employee that helped us when we finally found the area was AWESOME though- super nice and friendly and helpful and knowledge. I grew up going to Sanibel/Captiva so I’ve been a lot in 47 years. They are doing great at rebuilding on the islands, but South Seas needs some better management and still has a ways to go before construction will be complete.

The room was spotless, and the check-in staff was incredibly friendly. The trolley driver was very accommodating, and the team at the ice cream shop was also warm and welcoming. Our condo was beautiful and clean. Felt all new and had all we needed. There is a lot of work going on around, lots of hammering and trucks coming and going. The elevator didn’t work the first few day, but was fixed. The only real problem is the bugs and no-see-ums. They don’t treat for bugs so we got eaten alive on the beach and by the pool.

Everything about the property was excellent along with the staff and services. My only complaint was the $1500 hold they put on my card for resort fees and incidentals. The resort fee is $50 per day but they hold another $1250 for anything you purchase on at the resort. I understand why they do it but it would be good to advertise that before I booked. Either way the resort was incredible.

We checked in and was welcome by a nice person at the front desk Marissa she got us checked in and showed us a map of the property and everything that was going on. We asked about upgrading to the beachside Villa and Brian was nice enough to come out and upgrade us for free the villa was beautiful. Had a great view of the beach with the sunset. Everything was perfect. It was our anniversary and a welcome surprise was on that day. They delivered a bottle of wine with some nice candies for us to enjoy overall the areas nice they’re still trying to get their sea legs back from the hurricane two years ago, but things are progressing nicely.
