I appreciated that the hotel had an on-site spa, and I was lucky it wasn’t busy, because the spa turned out to be mixed-gender. I was surprised, since I had asked beforehand and expected men and women to be separated, especially as I wear a headscarf. Still, the staff were kind and made sure no men entered while I was using the facilities, even closing the doors—definitely a perk of being the only guest.
I booked a spa package with a Turkish bath and a massage. What surprised me most was how expensive the amenities were, especially considering how empty the hotel was during my two-day stay. My package cost around 3,500 lira, which felt high given that the average monthly salary in Turkey is around 2,200 lira. I understand tourist pricing, but since it was Black Friday and low season, many places adjusted their rates—this hotel didn’t. For that price, I would rather have a spa experience in another country.
Aside from a few people I saw on the first night, the hotel felt completely empty. Despite the slow season, everything still felt overpriced. Even simple food was expensive: a margarita pizza was almost $15 and not very good. It was supposed to have basil, but they replaced it with whole salad leaves, which made no sense.
Overall, I found the hotel overrated. I had been in Fethiye right before, and even in the off-season it felt livelier. Göcek is beautiful, especially the marina, but staying there is extremely expensive for a place that feels quite soulless.
The room was simply furnished, very clean but the bedding didn’t fit the bed. The pool and surrounding area was pleasant but the hotel is a 5/7 minute (not so nice) walk to seafront. We were pleased we had a suite as standard rooms looked very small.
Gocek is a beautiful but very expensive village with a stunning location and marina. Have to say that £250 a night for the accommodation offered is high. There was little or no information offered about the area or the hotel services.
Overall at if it had been half the price it would have represented good value and whilst Gocek hotels are expensive this does not justify the price tag.
The hotel staff are what make a pleasant stay, they cannot do enough for you. We stayed in a stone room which overlooked the beautiful pool and had a second balcony. The breakfast is amazing, the pool is so peaceful with the most comfortable beds and the grounds are lovely, pomegranate, avocado and olive trees surrounding the grounds.
The walk to the marina is an easy 6 minute walk with lovely shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
We will be definitely come back.
Otel temiz ve güzeldi. Ancak ekstralar çok pahalıydı. Bir şise su bile 250 tl idi. Disaridan su alalim dedik buzdolabi yoktu kucuk de olsa onun disinda kahvaltisi havuzu temizligi cok guzeldi. Bir puani ekstralardan kirdik.
The staff here were super accommodating, very helpful. Clean, quiet hotel with nice pool, convenient for the airport, but it’s the helpful staff that we really liked.
This was a beautiful oasis in Gocek. All of the staff were friendly, polite and wanted to be of help. The pool area was beautiful and quiet with lovely comfortable sun beds. The spa was lovely - we had a great Turkish bath. Breakfast was served by the pool each morning between 8 and 12 and the service was great whatever time we went down. We were given a traditional Turkish platter and then were also asked to choose from a selection of hot and cold options. The walk to town with all its restaurants by the marinas took about 10 minutes and was easy. It also took you past some great noisy frogs!
A hotel to avoid — a disgrace to Turkish hospitali
I want to acknowledge the professionalism and courtesy of the two gentlemen at the front desk and the young woman at the spa reception. Their kindness and service were the only redeeming aspects of my stay.
Unfortunately, the experience was completely ruined by the owner of the hotel, whose arrogance, rudeness, and above all dishonesty were simply unacceptable.
Staying in a double room, I had booked private access to the spa for one hour, which was included in my reservation. To my surprise, at checkout, I discovered that this access had also been charged to my friend, on the direct instruction of the owner, even though it was clearly a private session I had booked. In the end, we were forced to pay twice for the same service.
Such dishonest practices are unworthy of a hotel, and do not reflect the warmth and generosity of the Turkish people, whom I deeply respect and have experienced positively many times in Turkey.
Hotel & Spa Renka is a disappointment and does not deserve your trust. Avoid it if you expect a fair, respectful, and honest experience.
