"The Vines I believe has been recently taken over by new owners/management. They are still trying to find their feet, but are open and upfront about it from the moment you check in. The staff were friendly and helpful, the beer cold and crisp, the room clean and peaceful. I think once they get their rhythm the vines will only get better, though I did enjoy the feeling of it being like coming home to mum and dads which sometimes is a good thing and needed."

"Easy check in, staff were super helpful. Room was a great size, clean and nice and bright. Struggled to get the app to connect to my Expedia booking to control all the mod-cons but it wasn't critical - I could still use the TV remote the old fashioned way! Really enjoyed our stay here as an overnight stop to break up a long journey and would definitely recommend to other travellers!"

"We were upgraded by the delightfully kind manager to a room with a bath. As we were walking the Thames Path this was hugely appreciated - a wonderful clawfoot bath and a good shower. The room was large, light and beautiful. There was a little noise as we were above the bar, but only at a low hubbub and it didn't impact our sleep at all (I'm a very light sleeper). Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast. The New Inn exceeded our expectations."

"Only thing that let it down was what we think was a sensor on the external door repeatedly beeping all night and the street lights shining through the top of the curtains making the room a bit too bright. Other than that it was an excellent stay, lovely pub, food, service, drinks and room. The homemade rhubarb drink was amazing "

"LOVED IT! If you want to experience English inns, stay here. Beautiful, peaceful, albeit very European with the room configuration and bathroom setups, but a very fair trade off for the environment. That is actually one of the reasons I chose it, reliving childhood experiences of quaint English inns. Beautiful, peaceful and affordable. Right near Bibury Trout Farm & the Cotswolds or, I suggest the small village of Carterton for a nice slice of pizza."
