"Here’s a sharper, but still credible and postable version of your review: ⸻ I’m extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Wingate by Wyndham Fairbanks. I booked a King Deluxe room expecting something that actually resembled a “deluxe” setup, but what I walked into was far from it. The room was bare—just a king bed, a TV, and a desk. No real furniture to speak of. The “seating” was basically a dining-style chair, not the couch or comfortable chair you’d expect when paying extra for a deluxe room. It felt stripped down and cheaply put together. To make matters worse, the room had a strong odor that was very similar to cat urine. That alone made the stay uncomfortable and honestly unacceptable. The surrounding area has also gone downhill. There were vagrants lingering on corners nearby, which made things feel unsafe and added to the overall negative experience. What’s most frustrating is that I’ve stayed here years ago, and it used to be a nice, comfortable place. Now it feels like it’s been neglected and poorly managed. Definitely not worth the price, and I won’t be staying here again."

"Breakfast was very good! Clean setup. Limited seating so I ate in my room. Room was spacious, great amenities like kitchen sink, microwave, mini fridge. Loved the window seat and the fact i could open the curtains for a view of the mountains (and highway). $100 held for damages at checkin - you can tell they get some rowdy tenants. TV in my room had obviously had a hard life, but still worked. "

"I rarely post a poor review but this hotel had no heat, and the neighborhood is famously bad with lots of homelessness and theft. Many many hotels exist in Anchorage, at all price points. This one needs some attention. "

"My husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 20+ years. This was my first visit in a few years. The lobby update was gorgeous. But the pool couldn't be used, and I am positive I wouldn't have used it, as it was DIRTY. The only thing nice about the hot tub was that the water was hot. The water was really dirty, lots of floating things, and the bench seat scraped your skin as it needs to be resurfaced. Most of the employees at this hotel were amazing. The wait staff need more training. Our room was awesome. "

Parking was always available when we came back for the evening. Will definitely stay here again. Only wish it had a small pool for the kids to burn off some energy. "
