"Mal, the host, was exceptional - welcoming, interested in us, and couldn't do enough for us. His breakfasts and rooms were first class. We would recommend Hillcroft to anyone who wants a great place to stay. "
"Booked this last minute to attend a job interview the next day as it allowed for late check in on a Sunday night as using public transport. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Great local area knowledge. Very clean room-people above me the first night were noisy but I could sleep. Amazing bathroom-loved the shower. So close to the centre of York so I could come back post interview and explore very easily into the city to see the Minstry and visit the Shambles. Would come back again"
"Took our 10 year old granddaughter for her last visit before schools opened back .our room was large with a double sofa bed for her . The bar area was very nice. Breakfast was what we would expect and the food was nice and warm . It was raining on the Saturday night so we opted to stay in the hotel for our evening meal but have to say we were quite disappointed with the quality of the food. All the staff were really friendly and we would definitely stay again. "
"We loved our stay at the Churchill. It’s in a great location, about a 10 minute walk from York centre. The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The food in the bar was great-big portions too. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Overall this hotel is wonderful and we would definitely stay here again! "
"Room was modern , clean and fully equipped. Fridge ,safe iron. Coffee/tea tray . Shower was good.
Parking was ok for us as we got there early. Not sure it can accommodate the number of rooms .
