Picturesque and wonderful

This little hotel is so wonderful. The pool is honestly to die for. So picturesque, especially at sunset, although pretty amazing all day long! The staff are amazing and so accommodating. It’s true the margaritas are fav, although sadly they couldn’t offer them in the second night of my stay. But as I left, they were doing a shopping run, to replenish. My room was comfortable and super, the only thing missing for me was A/C. I had a massage and it was excellent.

Staff delightful, good chef, great breakfast choices. Accommodation quite quaint and possibly a little tired but perfectly comfortable and very private. Fantastically relaxing place and a good pool. The margaritas were excellent but bar not well stocked. We loved it - we stayed five nights at the end of a four week trip which had been pretty hectic so we very much appreciated the peace and quiet

Away from the crowds

With a direct view of the sunset over the infinity pool, this isolated resort, built by a famous architect, will make you want to stay longer. Spa services, delicious food, helpful staff, comfortable natural building materials will charm you. Don’t miss it!

Beautiful and peaceful in every way

We arrived tires, having biked 90km to get there, and were immediately set at ease by the kind staff. We were provided with a lovely and spacious cabin upgrade with a king sized bed and hot water showers. Out stay continued to get better. Swimming in both the infinity pool and the lovely ocean beaches. An excellent choice of drinks at the lovely bar. The best food ever! The staff helped us plan our activities, including Ayurvedic massage treatments at their spa. We could have stayed a week!

With the effort to get there!

Host Denzil was very accommodating with our very late arrival and early departure. He arranged the drivers both ways for seamless transport. Ours was a short stay so we did not get to check out the park safari - but will deff return for that. Palagama Beach is a wonderful refuge from daily life - the pool, lounge and restaurant are delightful - lovely a la carte menu and the best Margaritas in all of Asia! The shaded cabanas round the pool are the perfect place to catch the sea breeze and lounge away an afternoon. Lovely a la carte menu and the best Margaritas in all of Asia! Minnie the resident dog is an important contributor to a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. Shirodhara and head massage treatments from Rohan at the spa could very well become addictive!

Perfect honeymoon destination

We stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. We had a wonderful stay. The beach cabana was lovely. The food was a very enjoyable mix of Sri Lankan and Western cuisine. The staff were very helpful and made it very easy to arrange activities such as dolphin watching and safari.

Charming and basic accommodation but fairly remote

This hotel is very basic but very charming. It is accessed by a dirt road of 4 km and staff will arrange tuk tuks as necessary. One good thing is that you will not be bothered by people selling items on the beach, the locals are mainly fishermen and it was fun watching them fish off the beach. It is very relaxing and the pool is good and well maintained. The staff are all very helpful and will arrange tours and special food orders.The walls of the beach villa are made of palm leaves with open areas which allow insects in but the bed does have a very efficient mosquito net, which they will spray with repellent.There is no ac, fridge, tv or wifi in the room. Part of our bathroom was in a small compound with no roof but clean .The communal areas are open with no ac and could do with fans to move the air around. If you have no appetite for nature being close, this may not be the place for you. As a final recommendation , the vines growing the sand by the beach could be removed, as they can be a trip hazard.

Quel chouette endroit !

Nous avions réservé 4 nuits au Palagama Beach après un circuit de 8 jours au Sri Lanka. Le repos que nous avions souhaité avoir après ce voyage magnifique mais relativement fatiguant, nous l'avons trouvé là dans ce petit paradis terrestre, havre de paix, petit éco-hôtel de taille familiale, sympa à tous les points de vue. Très bonne cuisine ! Le personnel souriant, gentil, efficace, aussi bien au restaurant, à la réception que pour l'entretien de la chambre et les endroits communs. Wifi gratuit aux endroits communs : piscine, bar, resto, réception Excursion en bateau avec accompagnant sympa qui connaît bien la vie sous-marine et qui parle en connaissance de cause, aussi bien pour l'observation des dauphins (un vrai spectacle !) que pour la beauté sous-marine pendant le snorkling. Il nous a proposé de filmer avec notre "gopro" sous l'eau pour les 2 excursions et nous en gardons des images et des souvenirs absolument magnifiques. Un endroit où on se sent chez soi et que je souhaite recommander vivement !
