Essaouira

The hotel is located just off the main square, easy to find and close to the port. The two hosts were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the courtyard was good. We had been travelling for a while, including a trip into the desert, and when I asked about laundry possibilities it was done in-house for free! Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Cool riad in the medina!

Difficult to find; love the door knocker. Fabulous courtyard, which is where we ate breakfast! Staff was friendly & polite; Internet worked well. Clean rooms, super high ceilings, windows onto courtyard, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water. Room #4 has no TV or fridge (although we didn't early expect a fridge).

Centralissimo, sulla piazza davanti alla fortezza. Si accede da una galleria di fianco ai bar. Camere attorno a un bel patio, 2 piani e terrazza panoramica. Camere ben arredate, letto comodo, bagno con doccia. Pulizia generale ottima. Colazione, abbondante, servita nel patio a piano terra o sulla terrazza. Personale amichevole. Wifi così così.

Riad bien placé, très bien entretenu et spacieux

Riad très bien situé, accueil chaleureux et très professionnel, chambre spacieuse et très propre, terrasse lumineuse, petit déj copieux. Seul bémol, la terrasse d'un bar voisin qui diffuse sa musique jusqu'à minuit aux beaux jours !

Relaxing stay in the heart of Essaouira

Dar Ness is a beautiful place to stay in the heart of Essaouira. Very nice Riad, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and close to everything (beach, shops, restaurants,...).

Sehr zentral in der Altstadt gelegen

Wir waren das 2.Mal im Riad Dar Ness und waren wie das letzte Jahr begeistert. Es liegt sehr zentral,der Eingang ist etwas versteckt. Trotz der zentralen Lage ist es im Riad sehr ruhig und man kann sehr entspannen. Sobald man hereinkommt fühlt man sich wohl und willkommen. Der Besitzer ist täglich vor Ort und erkundigt sich dezent nach dem Befinden und Wünschen. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich und unaufdringlich, erfüllt aber jeden Wunsch. Wir waren diesmal mit 2 Erwachsenen und einem Kind dort und kommen jederzeit gern wieder in dieses Riad.

Dar Ness advertises itself as a 'Hotel de charme' and that's exactly what it is.Rooms and common areas are very nicely decorated and kept spotless by a friendly and professional staff.It is located just off Place Moulay Hassan, so you're a stone's throw away from shops and restaurants. There were two minor drawbacks, though. Being a converted traditional home, the rooms are situated around a central, open courtyard. all rooms have ventilation openings over the door that can not be closed. In my room, which was on the second floor, it meant there was a constant draft, day and night and it got quite chilly on windy nights. The other thing was that the hotel is very close to some bars that sometimes have live music at night. They didn't go on until very late when I was there, but if you're looking for absolute peace and quiet you should probably go and stay somewhere else. All in all I enjoyed my stay very much.

Great location, great place

We stayed here for only one night, but wished we had spent longer. We were travelling with a baby and the proprietor kindly upgraded us to a bigger room on the second floor. The place is tastefully done and very tidy, the staff is gracious. All in all, it's great value for money. The location is excellent as well, as it is situated in the heart of the walled city and very easy to find. Google maps points to the correct location. If you're arriving at Supratours bus station, you can simply walk to the hotel in about 10 minutes.

Charming 250 year old restored Riad

A beautiful galleried court yard, a roof top terrace with views of the beach. What more is there to say - Oh yes helpful staff, Ibrahim to minister to your requests, i.e. open your wine, put a log on the inviting open fire. Give directions answer questions. Leila and her assistant to serve your breakfast with a smile and "Bon Appetit." Finally James the Owner well traveled, perfect English, expert knowledge of the best places to eat round town. Always ready to have a conversation by the fire of an evening a gracious host. I would recommend this Riad and I shall return. Gerry

Riad i bästa läget

Fantastiskt trevlig riad i bästa läget i Essaouira. Njut av frukosten på takterrasen eller av lite myntate i den trevliga loungen framför den öppna brasan. Stora och fräscha rum, serviceinriktad personal och som sagt ett fantastiskt läge. Har svårt att tro att stället bara klassas som 2-stjärnigt. Rekommenderas varmt!

la vie sourit à Essaouira

Demandé le port et vous arrivez au Riad sans souci, vous laissez votre voiture au parking et vous êtes à deux pas du RIAD DARNESS, calme, très propre,le propriétaire est Français et le personnel vous accueille avec le sourire, les chambres sont spacieuses,ainsi que la salle d'eau, vous êtes proche des petits restos à poissons et crustacés un délice, allez vous ballader le matin au port un vrai spectacle!!!, ça vaut le deplacement.

Erwartungen übertroffen

Wunder schönes Riad mit viel Details in mitten der Altstadt. Der Inhaber spricht ein wenig Englisch, hat gute Restaurant Tipps und ist sehr hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück wird frisch zubereitet und ist 1A.

Great location

We stayed here for one night. The stuff were helpful and nice. Great location close to a square with lots of restaurants in the middle of the city.

Excellent hotel

Lovely small hotel in very good location. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast and roof top terrace. Highly recommend.

dar ness in essouria

brilliant location , just step outside and and you are close to the souks and the port.Once inside dar ness the atmosphere is calm and tranquil and quiet too.The French owner is very attentive and speaks perfect English .Lovely and clean and beautifully decorated.

Friendly welcome and a great breakfast

An excellent and inexpensive choice in a lively part of town near to several restaurants and rooftop bars and close to the port, beach and shopping street. Car parking is easy nearby and everywhere is walkable.The room was clean and the bathroom was more than adequate. There is a rooftop terrace with good furniture that would be very lovely later in the year.

Great place to stay

We spent 4 night at this riad and we had a great experience. Is placed at the entrance of the medina, very easy to find. The quality of the service is fantastic, all the people, invluding the owners are coming and greeting you, making sure that you have what you need. Quiet place to relax after spending hours of going around. Nice traditional breakfast with pasteries ,butter, gem, joghourt and fresh orange juice, coffee a little bit weak for my taste. The room is spacious, nicely decorated ina traditional morrocan way, very nice bed and bathroom. Don't be scarred if you don't see any heating in the room, wasn't cold at all in the night as we were afraid at the begining.
