"The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and professional. A bonus was the aircon in the rooms (we were there during the heatwave) nice comfy bed too!"

"We only stayed for one night but had a really lovely evening! The staff were very friendly, the pub/hotel have been recently refurbished and it's great. The rooms have everything you'd need, comfy bed, great shower, lovely lighting, loads of plugs! The bar and food was great. Overall really lovely and we'll stay again as we're often down to visit family."

"This was our 2nd stay when visiting Portsmouth for gigs. The hotel team are always very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is always good with good selection of fruits and juices to compliment ( if you actually have room). Free parking on a 1st come basis. All in all a great place to stay when in Pompey!"

"Location excellent for attractions. Reception was nice and a bit quirky. Room was a bit bland although recently refurbished. Breakfast was adequate. Air conditioning in the room would have been nice, a fan was provided. If the temperature had been any warmer it could have been a problem. We managed to get free parking at the front of the hotel which was a bonus, spaces were limited."

"The member of staff couldn’t find our booking and made us feel like we hadn’t booked it until I showed them the confirmation, but no apologies and said they were having IT issues, they then said the air conditioning hasn’t been working since May, but nothing mentioned on there web site, so it was a very uncomfortable stay and TBH I wouldn’t have booked that hotel as we are in a middle of a heat wave and staff were not helpful!!!! I have complained but not heard from them yet"

We needed three rooms, and staff had arranged that they were three adjacent rooms, which was good. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very accommodating - we needed some breakfasts to take away for some of our party who were out running during breakfast service. "This hotel is steeped in history- it is well located in Arundel but it is tired - had a annex room - immediately we walked into the corridor it smelled musty - the art work and the carpets old and tired. Room - clean - not luxurious- functional- furniture old - beds clean and comfortable. There were notices to tell you that should you spill anything on the carpet then expect a £100 fine . Bathroom basic - shower worked ok - black mould around basin taps and basin was stained. Convenient...
