"First time we’ve stayed here , and being relatively local, visit Newcastle often. The hotel is classy and comfortable, with brilliant staff . A few minutes walk to the Glasshouse and located on the quayside with some great restaurants and bars nearby. Parking was easy with hotel reserved parking at the rear of the hotel. Without a doubt, this will be our first choice for overnighters in Newcastle."

"Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly but having stayed in bannatyne hotels previously, this one is extremely disappointing. No breakfast was included nor was the gym so all additional extras and to be told if I booked direct the gym would have been included is very unhelpful. The one morning I went over to the health club for breakfast I was greeted by a very unhappy woman behind the till in the cafe who complained she had too much going on by herself. This might have had something to do with 5 members of staff stood at reception talking! Definitely won’t be staying here again, utterly ridiculous!"

"Staff were really great. It was unfortunate that a thunder storm had caused a problem in the kitchen meaning dinner wasn’t possible but that was fixed by breakfast next day. Good breakfast except no ‘proper’ coffee. The hotel is a lovely old building, with nice rooms, although a few areas would benefit from a freshen up. Nice grounds to take in too."
