Very nice mansion in a quiet neighborhood of Duluth. Check-in was simple and convenient. Room was clean, spacious and quiet. The common areas were very well decorated in period furnishings

Our stay was great. The only thing I would change is some better blankets or a heavier comforter on the bed, it was pretty much 2 thin sheets. Other than that, great place to stay.

Salyards Mansipn is among my favorite places to stay ever. It was beautiful and unique. Loved the neighborhood and being able to see Superior from the window of our room. So many nice touches that made this an excellent place. I would come back to Duluth just to stay here again.

We totally loved our luxury room at Salyards. Nice bathroom, cozy bathtub/shower combo, wonderful fireplace. Location was quiet. We also appreciated the ease of getting in and out, location was great for our visit with friends who live in the area. Thanks! I do recommend.

It is NOT a bed and breakfast as advertised and felt taken advantage of that by the listing. It states it is a boutique hotel but our bed was never made up daily, towels were not exchanged and only one creamer in the room. NEVER saw a staff person. The room was cramped as too much was in it

The property was not maintained on the outside of the mansion. The grounds were unkempt. The front looks nice from a distance but needs repairs, paint and landscaping was awful. Talked with two other guests who were moved to the carriage house because of a mix up in reservations. Carriage house did not meet their expectations. Would not have Orbitz recommended this property.

Disappointed

Wanted to love this place but our internet didn't work the whole time even with staff trying to fix it. 3 days of no TV, unable to play Netflix or Hulu or have Internet. Had to watch movies with DVD player. Jet tub in room but no hot water, Luke warm and barely covered the jets then turned cold and that happened everyday. Couldn't enjoy that and that's the reason we decided to stay at this place. So disappointing. Only 1 small garbage in the room for the bathroom. Breakfast was just muffins everyday, no variety where they claim " pastries provided" coffee not made daily. Felt like they should at least start a pot of coffee when they put the pastries out. Room beautiful and bed comfortable. Had to call them to process the payment after we left as they didn't take the payment. They didn't have a clue and didn't offer any kind of discount for being honest about that. Not trying to be a negative Nelly here but was very disappointed especially for what you pay. We chose this as our honeymoon destination and won't be back.

They use lock pads on the doors for access, the door to our room was difficult to get to lock (had to pull the door towards you to get it to lock properly). Then we were leaving to go to dinner and the batteries were dying on the keypad and it set off a low battery alarm that proceeded to go off for 45 min extremely loud and we weren’t able to lock our door for over an hour because there’s no staff on-site at all so we had to call the assistance line and they said they would call us back in a couple min and 40 min later I called back and they said the maintenance guy was on his way ….but he lived 30 min away. Our room was as expected but there was hair in the shower from the last person who stayed there, there was water left over in the ice bucket from the last person, and used plastic utensils under the bed from the last person as well. Overall the room was cute, the bed was super comfortable, it was nice they supplied Netflix and Hulu but when we tried to watch there were too many people on the account so it was useless for us, but I’d like to warn anyone that there are no staff onsite which made our stay aggravating at times, and I think the cleaning crew should pay a little more attention to detail, and the NOISE TRAVELS IN THIS MANSION you hear creaks and conversations from the rooms around you. Not to mention someone has a baby that cried for 2 hours during the night during our stay.

Nice restored mansion with small, but comgortable rooms. Private bathroom & tub/shower combo, with small frig/freezer and coffee maker. A plus was the pot-belly gas stove for warming on cool Duluth mornings & evenings. Overall, very comfortable. Brule Retreat room was up one flight of stairs.

Check in and check out process was smooth and easy for it being completely hands off. The room was as advertised. Very beautiful and cozy space. Perfect for a couples getaway. Amenities available to the guests were great - Duluth Coffee is delicious.
