The Barrington Hotel

"We have stayed at The Barrington many times and always liked it because of its proximity to Historic Properties. We had not been back for several yrs. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff responded to any questions we had but were not overly friendly, no one said I hope you have a good stay, or upon leaving did you enjoy your stay, all business. It would be helpful if the wifi access was available in the room. I had to call the desk to confirm it when I was not getting connected. I expect this happens to others as well, perhaps if you put it in the rooms or on the key card it would decrease the calls to the front desk. When I went to check out around 930 or so Friday morning the floor in front of the staff in the lobby had just been cleaned and was very wet making me hesitant to walk on it because as a senior I am afraid of falling. Perhaps because of the humidity it does not dry as well as it should. I suggest you consider when the floor should be cleaned as I do not expect you would want anyone to have a bad fall."

"This is a hidden gem of a property. Doesn’t look like much online or at first glance when approaching but rooms are updated, comfortable and well thought out. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Easy parking. And breakfast is a several notches above average hotel breakfasts. Location near chocolate lake is a plus- bring your paddle board or kayak for a relaxing workout in summer and fall. The chairs and picnic tables and gazebo in back is a great touch a relaxing morning or evening"
