The hotel is currently undergoing renovation, but this had been announced several times beforehand and it remained quiet during the evening and at night. The service at reception and in the restaurant was extremely friendly. The hotel is showing its age, but as mentioned, it has been partially renovated. I think I was given a new room – it was large and spacious, with a great design. The minibar was free – and the location is brilliant, right next to Signal Iduna Park. Perfect

Very comfortably situated next to the fair grounds, so could leave the car at the hotel and walk up. Free parking until 12 hours after arrival. Good breakfast buffet. Fast and stable WiFi internet. Unfortunately limited restaurants at walking distance, but Strobel had perfect dishes and they accept credit cards. ( in German restaurants an adventure sometimes )

6/10 Okay

Disliked: Amenities
The location is right next to the fair which was convenient. On the other side of the hotel was a small nice garden and it was close to two bigger gardens which were nice. Other than that there wasn't much to do in walking distance. The hotel was okay, but definitely needs some updating. The pillows and sheets in the rooms were very old and iffy. The bar and pool were closed, the restaurant was open but there was no atmosphere there. No background music, nothing. It also wasn't possible to pay with card in the restaurant. We encountered this problem at multiple locations during our stay in Dortmund. It was like we were back in the 80s and paying with card was still strange or something. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was pretty good though. It wasn't a bad hotel, but from Mercure and for the price I expected more. (260 euros for 2 nights with breakfast)
