The location is beautiful, old manor house set within spacious landcaped gardens.
This is a very nice hotel in a fantastic location. We only had small niggles to bring up: it’s a shame that milk is still provided in individual plastic capsules as there’s so much plastic waste. They only provided 4 at a time which just about furnishes two cups, so we were forever at Reception asking for more. Despite having used a hotels .com voucher and paid in advance, we were asked both at check-in and check-out to settle up!
Hotel has everything you would need and extensive grounds, I wish we could have stayed longer.
Wotton House is set up as a Wedding venue not really as a hotel. All the downstairs living areas are very nice but the hotel bedrooms are appalling. Dirty carpets greet you as you walk to the rooms and it is the same in the rooms. The rooms are shabby with peeling paint and holes round the window frames. They have no idea how to service the rooms each day. We only got clean towels and the rubbish emptied. Our beds weren’t made and no water and coffee replenished. The grounds also looked very sad and unkept.
During our stay, there was a heatwave. Our room was on the top floor basically in the attic. There was no Air Conditioning system in place but there was for the lower floors. Basically our room was on oven, with a window that would not open fully because of a security system fixated on the window. The hotel just bought a bunch of Dyson fans. This did little to nothing to alleviate the lack of air in the room.
No alternate room was suggested. I asked for another bedroom but given the amount of insects and spiders at the window i just had to stick to the initial bedroom.
The hotel had a series of weddings organised over the weekend, which means the restaurant was not always available at its usual time. The restaurant was simply reserved to organise the various dishes for people attending the wedding.
No commercial gesture was offered by the hotel either.
I will leave out any positives regarding the hotel.

I stayed on a Sunday night with my dog, after a long walk at Leith Hill.
A large, rowdy wedding party slightly ruined the relaxed atmosphere and the following morning there was plenty of evidence of a party with beer bottles littered around the grounds.
If you’re a light sleeper I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, there is very little sound proofing so I was woken a lot as people made their way back to their rooms.
Overall the facilities are pretty basic - the beautiful surroundings are its only real benefit.
Beautiful hotel amazing room with roll top bath bathrobes and slippers really you could not ask for more and felt very spoilt. We have been before and will be back again definitely would recommend restaurant is fantastic too

Disliked: Staff & service
Understaffed and check out process was protracted and frustrating, rooms were reasonably clean but bathroom hygiene was poor and needed a more thorough clean. Grounds are stunning / breakfast was plentiful but again lack of staff to serve hot drinks or take drinks orders was noticeable and made for a frustrating experience.

Everything you need to know
Location: Is great in the outer skirt of London, quiet with routes to walk in. However, if you intend to visit London it is not the perfect location as it is more than 70 minutes drive away from it.
Service: Room service never changed the beddings during our visit, just tidy up the old beddings. This is not expected from 4 stars hotels for such expensive rooms.
Bathroom has no tooth paste and when we asked for one it was an embarrassment 5 gram tube barely enough for one use.
There was no night dining due to the new year evening, a wedding party and staff shortage in the kitchen so I am not sure about the quality of lunch food, however the breakfast was Ok, not too much variety but it is enough.
The hotel is not child friendly as there is not activity for children. It suits couples who are looking for romantic view but I do not recommend for too many days.
They charge a deposit (£25 per person, refundable they said)on arrival which I am not sure for what as I already paid in advance.
If you arrive at night it is easy to miss the hotel sign on the main road as it is not lit well so drive slowly to avoid many U turns.
Room size: I expected a bigger room for this hotel in travel lodge and Premium Inn and they have similar room sizes for a fraction of the cost.
Basically you are paying for the location, If there was no Covid-19 restrictions I would prefer to pay the £450 pounds two nights stay to travel abroad. It is not a value for money service.
Excellent, friendly reception, nice bar and very comfortable room.

The place was understaffed due to covid which reduced the efficiency such as check in / out procedures and other items such as room service, extended check out from the 11am deadline. The radiator was producing heat all night and couldn't be turned down to minimum. Any room on the -1 floor was located by the gym which meant chlorine smell and dampness. The room wasnt worth £200per night

The view from the room was lovely, the room for the price was very basic, have stayed in much better places for alot less, food was basic and when payment was taken they took twice and it was myself who had to sort it out
A stunning hotel in a truly beautiful location, with easy access to all that Surrey has to offer. I can't remember ever staying in a hotel where the staff were so friendly or helpful. From check in to check out everyone is keen to make sure you have the very best experience.
We only had breakfast in the hotel and it was a great range of food, that was delicious and very well presented.
The health club is very impressive, with a great range of equipment and a swimming pool.
The not so good points though. WiFi is a bit weak in some of the public areas and because of the hotels location, the telephone signal was a bit patchy. Not a major issue but if you have remote work to do you will have to hunt out the hotter spots.
All in all, this ia a fantastic hotel and would highly recommend staying there.
Beautiful house and gardens, simple room but comfy and clean, staff friendly. Only stayed one night but was relaxing and breakfast was delicious. Its a big hotel but was very good value and would certainly recommend and we will be returning ourselves.

The hotel is a little tired! And if a wedding is taking place then expect noise.
The staff definitely made our trip. Steph was an absolute gem - so attentive and made every effort to correct any error. We can't thank her enough! Jose at breakfast made us smile!
