Warm welcome, friendly helpful staff, very enjoyable reasonably priced evening meal. Excellent breakfast. The room on the top floor accessed by a steep staicase, was spacious and very clean, slight downside the mattress was a little tired. The location of the hotel was ideal very close to town centre. Tip. The restaurant is very popular so book a table in advance. Watch out for parking fines, paying by phone does not always work, one guest paid by phone and still got £100 worth of parking...

A very rare review – but our stay at Y Capel was absolutely faultless. Although a remote annexe of The Erskine Arms (on the same small street, opposite Erskine Arms) it is absolutely beautiful. The location was great, an easy drive to the nearby castles, Snowdon railway, and other historical sites. We took the train from London to Bangor and hired a car there. Can't fault the place really. The room was nice and spacious, comfortable bed with huge smart TV. Lovely views from outside. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice from full English, bakery, fruit and juices etc. Only bug bare was room service stops orders at 8pm. Not ideal if you fancy a little snack or dessert after dinner. Shop was limited. Spa was very relaxing. Great location. Overall I would recommend and stay again.
