"Good for what it was "

"Clean and spacious rooms. Very spacious bathroom and large comfortable bed. Pool and gym facilities are very good. Current refurbishment under way but we were not disrobed over the weekend. Great location for Sheffield and the arena"

"A nice modern hotel. Clean and comfortable on a main road that will allow you to travel out to a bunch of different riding and hiking spots conveniently. Staff were friendly and as mentioned it was lovely and clean. Only recommendation would be to bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and you happen to be in a room looking out on to the road. The windows are thick but seemingly not enough to block out noise from passing vehicles. "

"Great hotel for an overnight trip. Easy check in with polite and efficient staff. Rooms were very spacious and bathroom spotless and modern. Would recommend. Worth noting it’s not in the centre so it’s a short uber ride in. Also it is right next to the football stadium but no games when we stayed so not an issue. Perfect stay if you were going to a match."

"Wonderful room in a good location to the Botanical Gardens. Cosy, all amenities including toiletries and lovely fresh pastries with beverages in the morning. Highly recommend. You might get noisy students outside the building in the night though!"

"We were given a room upgrade which was nice however that room turned out to be extremely noisy. It was a bank holiday so understandable during the afternoon and night time but the music went on until 2am. There was also an issue with the bath, the plug was stuck so we could not drain the water. The parking situation is a bit strange and rather pricey too."

"The Hex Hotel is a Basic hotel on the luxury side. What I mean is there are no frills but it is a great place to stay particular when visiting the Yorkshire Wildlife park. It makes the stay very pleasant being able to relax after your visit or before your visit to the park. Two nights is ideal visiting the YWP in the middle. "We were allocated a room for a disabled person even though neither of us are disabled or had requested it. However we did appreciate the wet room rather than a bath with shower over. But, and a big but for any traveller, there was nowhere in the bathroom to place toiletries, razors, toothbrushes, deodorant, hairbrushes etc etc. All the things that are needed within reach of the sink. We ended up dragging the chair in the shower to the sink in order to have our toilet bags close without them...

"Stayed here for a 1 night stay. What a lovely, well kept historic building. Checkin was quick, easy and very helpful staff. Parking was £6 for 24hrs, which we think is great value considering recent price increases. The room was for a family of four, and fully equipped. Nothing missing, clean and air con was needed and was working a treat. We had the breakfast, and there wasn't a thing NOT on the menu. We will definitely stay here again for when we next visit Sheffield. Close to the City, and...
