"Completely met our needs and requirements for our 2 night stay - all the staff are friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and quiet and the breakfast gave us a good start to the day."

"We had previously eaten at this hotel and were so impressed that we decided pay another visit and stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was excellent. Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. "Beautiful setting, lovely pool and small spa but with a great view. Food both breakfast and the evening meal were excellent. The room was clean and comfortable but had no view (we knew this when booking, but it actually looked over the roof not even the hill to the back, it was however very quite. I suspect the room would be very warm mid summer as we needed the window open in early May."

"Looked ok in reception but that’s as good as it got , very out dated and not a great deal worked in the room . Very nearly boiled the kettle for a coffee in the morning before looking in it . Never seen anything like that before . When reeling off the stuff wrong with the room the staff were not bothered at all . Was charged £130 for the night and wouldn’t have paid £30 if I had a choice ."

"What a fantastic place! Really close to the beach, indoor pool and other great (free) activities for the kids (table tennis, badminton, etc). Staff also very friendly, and food in the restaurant was really good."

"This hotel has an amazing garden and restaurant but the property itself is in need of some 'love'. Shower screen kept coming off the bath so bathroom flooded, lead flashing still hanging off over a year later. Clean apart from wear and tear. Such a shame because the location and the staff are good"
