"We stayed in the cottages, which overlooked the Missouri river and railroad tracks. I enjoyed setting on the deck in the evening watching them. The cottage we stayed in met or exceeded our expectations. We will stay there again. One thing we found out is that most of the restaurants in Herman close on Tuesday and Wednesday so we will not be staying in Hermann on those evenings again. "Larry and Linda are very knowledgeable in providing tips to the local area. Larry used to be the Mayor of Hermann and councilman at the county level. The upstairs bedroom with onsuite bath was charming, spacious, and comfortable. However, if you are tall or overweight the upstairs is probably not a good choice as the steps are steep but they have other very nice rooms with beautiful screened in terrasse. "This is a very cute little house on the end of a quiet street. It's within easy walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, wineries, distilleries, and bars between 1st Street and 5th Street. If you don't mind a longer, hillier walk you could also go further south to City Park or to Stone Hill winery. But there's also easy transportation on the Trolley or local ride services.
