"I would say this is a 4 star hotel at best. We definitely expected more from this hotel. The issues in isolation aren’t too bad, but combined, it has left us disappointed: * brought to our room 20 minutes after check in because it wasn’t ready. * The shower was clogged. They did address this immediately when we requested maintenance * One of the outlets beside the bed did not work. "Staff for very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and very spacious. Breakfast has a lot of options but their warm food were often a bit cold. Outdoor pool were very nice. I like that there is an adult pool and kids pool the restaurants inside the hotel where a bit too expensive but the buffet dinner was also good with good value of money. The beach was very nice but mind you the sunbeds were very expensive."

"Touring Portugal with my elderly mother is difficult with all the cobblestone roads but this hotel was kind enough to loan us a wheelchair to help make it easier for us to explore nearby places. Do not leave without doing one of the boat tours. The smaller the better to go into the caves!"

"Good location near the beach. Clean and quiet.. Property managers were helpful and knowledgeable. Wonderful breakfast at the sister hotel with a large variety of items.. 10 minute walk to get there. To note: there is a tear down building attached to the property. If you do not want to see this building, make sure you are clear where your room faces."

"Was an excellent stay. Both my pregnant wife and I felt very welcome. I had a treat for my birthday and a treat for my baby, the room was always spotless and breakfast, although busy and with some of the staff showing a bit of inexperience, was always great and the buffet was fresh and replenished constantly. Parking was the only thing i can really complain about as there wasn’t always parking nearby (with a pregnant wife i wish this wasn’t the case). Wish i booked a few extra days as 7 days...

"This hotel feels more like a resort, it’s beautiful and modern. The bedroom balcony was lovely. There’s a pool and breakfast is included. The staff are very friendly & helpful. It’s close to some stunning beaches! I would definitely stay here again."

"The Bel Mar was great. The rooms were very spacious. Not only was it a nice hotel it was also a great value. There was a washing machine in the unit too which the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff was helpful. Multiple pools, great view, easy walk to the beach, convenient on site parking. We were a couple in our 50’s, there were families too. The drive to town was easy. A great place to stay and relax but also easy access to town if you have a car or an easy uber. Highly...

"Beautiful property and amazing breakfast selection but service was poor. Housekeeping might have just as well not done anything - minimal bed makin, did not even empty or clean used glasses/cups. Steam room did not work and staff said it had not worked in a "long time". AC in our room kept getting turned off in the sweltering heat - maintenance overnight was not helpful until next morning."

"Very basic accommodation. Ac was fine. Wifi was fine. Hot water was fine. No fridge for cold drinks. A bit of a sewer gas issue. Main complaint: very little soundproofing between rooms. I could hear my neighbours clearly (even snoring at night). Great location though. Relatively quiet street but still close to the old town and marina."

"Die Zimmer wurden jeden Tag gereinigt und hatten ein sauberes Zimmer. Jeden Tag frisches Wasser. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker und wir hatten viel Auswahl. Nettes Personal. Ein Safe befindet sich auch in Zimmer. Dad Meer und die Altstadt sind insgesamt ca. 15-20 Gehminuten entfernt."
