"Overpriced "

"We stayed five nights at this lovely hotel. Our lake view room was large and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Including a small fridge with bottled water replaced each day. Comfortable bed and great linen. Two comfortable chairs and a table in front of the window made it a great place to relax for a while with a cup of tea. The staff were friendly and efficient. Always a welcome when we returned from a day out. We had one evening meal in the restaurant and two in Ruskins...

"Room was clean and refurbished but let down by the bathroom The toilet was badly located and toiletries insufficient ( particularly as there was nowhere to shower in spa) due to no changing rooms being available Parts of the hotel have been refurbished and are lovely although often just superficial but the other parts are very tired and and unloved. Spa - the areas which were available were very good and clean but again doors were lacking in cleanliness and if you look closer corners are...

"This property was in need of updating. The rings had detached from the curtains, making them difficult to close. The tv was outdated. The frying pan had a very loose handle. The shower lacked power and the hot water only seemed to come on at around 8am, no good if you like to shower earlier. The bed was very comfortable, pillows were very cheap and bumpy."

"We stayed at the Kings Head last weekend and had a lovely time. The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree. "Amazing, the photos do not do it justice, lovely cosy cottage a home from home and fully equipped. Great location, short walk to village incl pubs and chippy, also access to walks (which pass through livestick fields so dogs on leads). Grizedale forest was a short drive away with really good (long & short) walks, better for dogs off leads. "

"Fantastic location and sense of being in a special place. Room was in annexe but that was fine, just a short walk across car park, and was reasonably spacious with efficient lift. Staff could not have been more helpful whether cheerfully bringing more tea at breakfast or dealing helpfully with enquiries at reception. If coming by car, parking seems tricky. We had to go to nearby paid (£5 for 24 hours) car park but we're fortunate to get a hotel space on day 2. Swimming pool is a great extra...
