Un séjour au Paradis, sous le soleil

Notre séjour, le premier en Guadeloupe, a été parfait et Gervaise et Charles y ont largement contribué, par leur gentillesse, leur disponibilité et leur sens de l'écoute: nos hôtes nous ont accueillis à l'occasion d'un apéritif et d'acras préparés spécialement pour nous en nous donnant toutes les informations utiles pour nos vacances. Comme nous sommes arrivés assez tard, à la tombée de la nuit, Charles m'a accompagné au petit supermarché à proximité pour faire les premiers achats pour débuter les vacances ! (ce que j'ai trouvé bien pratique). L'appartement où nous avons séjourné, au rez de chaussée de la propriété, est très agréable: même s'il n'a pas une vue directe sur la mer (il suffit de se pencher un peu!) est très bien situé face aux fleurs qui égayent le jardin. Le matin sur la terrasse, c'est toujours un plaisir au lever su soleil de découvrir les colibris, les rouge gorge des Antilles et les sucriers qui viennent butiner dés le lever du soleil: habitués aux vacanciers il ne sont pas du tout farouches ! Le logement est très bien aménagé: tout l'équipement pour se faire la cuisine et la chambre climatisée est très confortable. Deshaies est un joli port à deux pas (c'est là qu'est tournée la série "Meurtres au Paradis": on comprend pourquoi car c'est vraiment un petit paradis !) Il y a de très belles plages sur toute la côte caraïbe : on y voit des poissons multicolores juste avec un masque et un tuba !

Très bien

Tout y est: wifi, clim, piscine, parking, cuisine, proximité avec la plage Leroux (et d'autres plages ne sont pas bien loin, tout comme Deshaies)... Et l'accueil local des propriétaires (acras, rhum).

get the feel of Base Terre

Situated near beaches, diving and nature....we rented a car: well-worth it as there were plenty activities in the area. We even encircled both sides of Guadeloupe. For our tastes, we felt more at home here. With the small kitchen, we could make our own breakfast (or not) and sit on our patio to enjoy. Eating is an event....delicious and just a pop down the road into Deshaise; one of the funky curious small towns with friendly atmosphere.

Nice place well localised.

We had a wonderful stay. The appartement was clean. You have all you need in the kitchen. What you see in the pictures is what you get. The staff was great, Mrs and Mr Jalet were very welcoming, kind and helpful. We spent a wonderful time talking with them. There are a lot of beaches near the appartement. Especially, we loved the Grand Anse beach.

Perfect for individuel travelers, simple but nice!

We had a great time over Christmas and New Year. The Hosts are very kind and friendly and received us with a welcoming drink and a small chat. The deposit had been paid without receipt and paid back without any "palaver"-I mention this as it is not normal nowadays. The accommodation is quite simple, a picture could help to make the rooms a bit more friendly. The kitchen is quite small and not everything is perfect- but sufficient and practical. It´s located in the middle of houses where the local people live. All the neighbors greeted us whenever seen and had been very friendly. It feels very safe and we never had the idea something could have been stolen. For travels who prefer to follow their own regime, it´s the perfect location to either go to the beautiful beaches nearby, have a walk through the rain forest or go for diving, for example. The beautiful beach for swimming and snorkeling is just a 10min walk but others- like the pearl beach can be reached by car within a couple of minutes. Though a car is strongly recommend to be able to visit all those nice and exciting locations. We had a great time and look forward to travel to this place again.

Nice place, just need more information than shared

The hotel is difficult to find, especially at night, as the signage isn't great and the property sits up a road that looks more like an alley (at least to this American). We used Google Maps offline though, and it was spot on with helping us find the turn. It's more of apartments or bungalows, so there isn't staff on-site 24/7. The room was clean and comfortable enough; it was comparable to the majority of properties on the island. The proprietors are exceptionally welcoming and kind. A few things to note as they were surprises to me, you will be required to put up a 150 euro deposit in cash and pay the taxes in cash at check-in. And if you don't want to clean the room yourself, it'll cost you another 25 euros at check-out. Additionally, the beach is not really very close to the hotel (for walking at least). There are several beaches on the island within driving distance though. And air conditioning is only in the bedroom between 8:15pm-6am. There are no additional pillows or any blankets in the room, so ask for these in advance. But overall, we were pleased with the rental, and I think others would be, as well, knowing this additional information.

Schönes Appartment nahe Meer

Ich war im April 3 Wochen auf Gouadeloupe, hauptsächlich zum Tauchen. Daher hatte ich mir eine Unterkunft in der Nähe der Tauchbasis gesucht. Das Haus hatte 6-8 eigenständige Appartments, mit Terasse, WLan, teilweise mit Meeresblick und einen kleinen hübschen Garten. Es liegt ein par Meter den Hang hoch, dennoch war der Ort (mit eher bescheidenen Einkaufs- und Essensmöglichkeiten) in 5-10 Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen, genauso wie 2 schöne Strände. Für alles weitere ist unbedingt ein Mietwagen zu empfehlen (Parkplatz vorhanden), da ich einen hatte weiß ich allerdings nicht wie zuverlässig der Bus ist. Das Appartment hat eine kleine Küche mit Ausstattung, das Wichtigste ist vorhanden. Das Bett hat ein Moskitonetz (ist auch dringend nötig). Die Hausbesitzerfamilie ist sehr freundlich und bemüht einem zu helfen. Unbedingt vorher die Ankunft telefonisch vereinbahren. Der Vater spricht allerdings nur französisch, der Sohn kann auch englisch. Einzig negativ war dass die Nachbarn der umliegenden Häuser manchmal etwas laut sind (Fernseher o.ä.).

Nice bungalow located in quiet area outside town

I had a pleasant stay at Les Merveilleux flots de la Mer -bungalows. The bungalow is old and especially the bathroom is in the need for renovation but the price is accordingly lower. The bungalow has fully equiped kitchen and small but very nice terasse for eating. Air condition only works at night but one can keep the front door open. Nice beaches are quite close, restaurants further away, and you do need a car to move around (spaceous parking). The owners are nice and local people live in the neighborhood.

Séjour très sympathique. Logement propre, agréable et calme. Des propriétaires très sympas avec un super accueil (beignet et jus de fruit).
