The hotel is excellent but isn't situated in the best area part of Delhi, it is safe but walking to the metro you have to cross numerous busy roads and even when the traffic lights are red the motor bikes continue to ride thru so you really need to have your wits about you. The break fast buffet is excellent with an out standing choice of options and the quality of the food is first choice. I was disappointed that for a few nights the Gourmet Bar didn't have any Indian beers which was very poor. The only really negative thing was the laundry, I spent a fair amount of time chasing when I would get it back. One day by mistake I left the do not disturb light on for my room so that days laundry wasn't left so I presumed it would be returned with the next days but it wasn't and it took them well over an hour to track it down. A call out to the young man that often worked the Gourmet bar, he was very friendly and took the time to listen when I asked for food to be slightly different to what was on the menu, he is probably early 20's, clean shaven and has a diamond in one ear. On the whole the hotel is excellent and would have no problem recommending it to other travellers

The Novotel hotel was clean, modern, spacious and had a wonderful rooftop pool with accompanying evening bar and restaurant. We loved sitting at the rooftop bar at sunset with a cocktail. We had limited interactions with the staff as we didn't use the restaurants but those that we did speak to were really friendly. It's a good location for exploring new and old Delhi, however if I were to go back I'd probably choose somewhere closer to South Delhi, so you're somewhere slightly more green and vibrant. But that's a personal preference, rather than anything to do with the hotel itself.

It feels like heresy for an inveterate transit rider like me to say this, but here goes: an excellent hotel, but a poor fit for risk-adverse tourists who intend to get around on Delhi's impressive metro. A map shows a walk of a mere nine hundred meters from the hotel to the Jhandewalan Blue Line station. Doable, certainly, but please look at the photos that show the intersections I crossed to get to that station. Yes, there are stoplights and crosswalks, but these seem to be observed in the breach. I never felt fully safe crossing any street, put myself in "remora" mode by scurrying after locals when they navigated intersections, on the assumption that they'd know what they could and couldn't get away with if they've survived in Delhi to adulthood. The room was on the small side, but this didn't bother me, and I felt entirely content with the booking in all other respects. Staff was ambassadorial. One supervisor in the lobby quietly approached to offer help if it even looked like I needed advice or assistance. A restaurant manager offered his business card. The morning buffet was terrific.

Food was terrible, buffet was so bad now I am sick. They only serve half cup of coffee or Indian tea. The hotel is located in very bad area, red light area and beggars. Cannot rest, day time is very noisy with cars, 3 wheeler and at night dogs are barking.
