Loved the art in the hotel, well appointed throughout. We really enjoyed our stay. Upgrade for the view. Pool and wellness spa were clean. Can’t wait to stay again!

The property is modern with all the amenities one values during vacation. Several restaurants on site, beautiful rooms, helpful and professional staff, good food options, visually appealing with lovely art work throughout, an infinity pool, and nightly entertainment. The location is across from the port, so the streets are always full of people. Taxis are plentiful and it's easy to get around. There is sometimes a language barrier however. The nearby beach is not for swimming. The closest clean water beach is about an hour away. The surrounding areas were safe but poverty is present. I loved the people, the culture and the hospitality. I would stay at this property again if I return.

5-Star all the way!
My husband and I only stayed at the Johari Rotana for one night which was very unfortunate as we would have loved more time there. We booked a driver to and from the airport through the hotel and he was amazing, despite very challenging driving conditions. Our room was beautiful and the entire hotel is stunning with great African artwork. Check in was quick and staff were great. We really enjoyed our dinner on the gorgeous rooftop with pool lit up and live music. Food was very good, with an extensive menu and attentive service. We left so early morning that we missed the buffet breakfast that was included, but they packed us a breakfast to go. Overall, it was an amazing way to end our trip to East Africa!

What an amazing hotel! Very clean and modern. Our room was spacious. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. There is a wide range of choice for breakfast. For the first time in years I had a swim in a swimming pool and I loved it. Beautiful lobby and amazing art. Which you should see even if you do not stay in this hotel. Just go there to have a drink/meal and enjoy. We checked out in the morning to walk around in the city, but because we had a very late flight we wanted to change our clothing before heading to the airport. We could use the spa dressing room in the evening to change the clothes we wore the whole day. Excellent.

Impressive hotel
Impressive hotel. The only hotel that competes at this level is the Hyatt Regency and it’s often priced much higher. Rooms are big and the interior is modern and new looking. Service was outstanding.

Kaukana luksushotellista. Tähtiarvio antoi olettaa paikan olevan tasokas, mutta sitä paikka ei ole. Yövyimme täällä ennen safarille lähtöä ja olin etukäteen sopinut, että saamme aamiaisen huoneeseen klo 5.15 ennen lähtöä. Varmistimme asian vielä paikan päällä erikseen. Tästä huolimatta aamiaista ei ilmaantunut ja soittaessamme respaan sanoivat ettei siitä ole tiedoissa mitään merkintää ja voivat pakata meille eväspussin mukaan. Jouduimme siis syömään autossa, ilman ruokailuvälineitä ja täysin ala-arvoista aamiaista. Lisäksi kysyimme respasta, mikä apteekki on auki 24/7, ja he antoivat väärää tietoa. Myöskään huoneessa ei ollut varustelu ihan kunnossa, piti erikseen käydä pyytämässä toinen kylpytakki, vaikka varaus oli kahdelle. Kahdeksannen kerroksen illallisravintola huonolaatuinen ja ylihintainen. Myös hygieniataso mietitytti, esim. majoneesi huoneenlämmössä. Ei missään nimessä vastannut odotuksia tasokkaan hotellin ravintolasta. Allasalue sinänsä kiva, mutta aurinkotuoleja vain 6 kpl ja kaikki aurinkopaikoilla (ei varjoja). Span sijaintia ja palveluja kyselin useaan kertaan, mutta ohjattiin vain altaalle, se jäi siten mysteeriksi. Ainoa plussa kivat huoneet ja mukava sänky.
