"Such a lovely comfy hotel. Had the best stay here for a few days, the staff were so so lovely and helpful, writing things out in Chinese for us and being so helpful with any questions we had. The room is comfortable and clean and the courtyard is so beautiful. Just a 5 minute walk to the South Gate in the ancient city of Dali so the perfect location and all at such an amazing price! Highly recommend! "

What is a historic hotel like in Dali?
A guest who chooses a historic hotel has a chance to stay in a building that has been officially recognised with a historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world have had many former lives and uses, such as castles, palaces, grand homes or even old police stations, pubs, lodges or skyscrapers — any building that’s been identified as being of special interest. These types of hotels in Dali usually retain authentic elements such as period features or traditional architecture in guestrooms or communal spaces.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
The two are similar. “Historic hotel” is a term often used in the US, while you’ll often hear “heritage hotel” in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to emphasise the architecture and actual building. A heritage hotel draws meaning mainly from the cultural value and how it inspired the community.

Tourists who book a stay can expect the usual amenities you’d find in a hotel such as Smart TVs, WiFi and updated bathroom facilities. Booking a historic hotel in Dali doesn’t mean you’re picking a place that’s uncomfortable for guests or rundown.
