"This place was clean, quiet, and safe, and is in a pretty setting near/on estate lands. Very convenient from the highway for access to local tourist spots and Shannon Airport. The hotel is super large and sprawling. It seems to be very popular with young families. At our Expedia rate it was pretty basic in terms of amenities. We took a look at the breakfast, which wasn't included in our rate, and it also seemed basic, so we gave it a pass. Great local bakeries and other spots to choose from...

"Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations. The beautiful setting and old grand building were a beautiful site as we arrived. Staff are very helpful in booking reservations ahead of our arrival. Bathroom was fantastic in the family suite with big soaking tub and jets. "I never had of Newcastle West before, but if you are ever in this town, this is the place to be. My wife considered the breakfast "the best Irish breakfast in Ireland," and who am I to disagree? We truly enjoyed our stay (and the breakfast) as well the friendly staff including (especially Derek the manager). We need disability-friendly accommodations, and this hotel, in this regard, was a great place to stay. The true test of any hotel, is "Would you go back?," and we would gladly come back...

"The hotel was extremely busy which led to service being poor. There was a wedding the night we stayed which led to an obscene amount of noise, and not ideal since we were catching an 8 hour flight next day. Room cleanliness was okay, hairdryer did not work. The main public areas of the bar, restaurant were not very clean. Public bathrooms were also not clean but highly likely due to the high traffic."

"I appreciate the hotel was close to the airport. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff was very friendly and able to make a taxi reservation for my next day departure. The taxi arrived at the appropriate time. The restaurant staff were very kind."

"Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Everything worked smoothly, the room was comfortable, and the overall experience was very positive. The only small point to mention is that the rooms can be quite a long walk from the reception and breakfast area. We happened to have one of the furthest rooms, which was a little inconvenient at times, especially with family/luggage. Other than that, everything met our expectations, and we had an enjoyable stay. We would happily stay here again."

Unfortunately, there was Heatwave when I arrived 30c which even for an American from New Jersey is Hot.
