"I was met with a very engaging owner who showed me through the hotel. My room was small but very clean with a comfortable bed and efficient heating. Bathroom was a shared bathroom but was very clean and plenty of hot water and large 'fluffy' towels. The evening meal was very tasty and there was not a long waiting time for the meal. Very helpful and friendly staff. A beautiful country hotel and I would highly recommend staying at this hotel."

"My family and I had a wonderful two night stay at the Lake Inn Ballarat. We were very happy with our clean and spacious room, which included a convenient microwave we didn't even know we needed till we did. They also provided a cot for our entire stay for just $20. A major highlight was the attached City Oval Hotel, the food and drinks were excellent, making it incredibly convenient for dinner.
The only minor drawback was that the hot water in the shower wasn't as hot as we would have liked....
"What a great historical hotel in the heart of Ballarat. The room was up to date and the staff was helpful with our luggage. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious and the service excellent. There was no problem with parking on site, especially upon our late night return from the Sovereign Hill Aura event. "
