"We enjoyed our week stay at the Salida Monarch! It’s not the fanciest place, but as an older motel it’s in good repair. There has been remodeling, upgrades and cosmetic repairs, overall it’s a lovely little place to stay. The location is good, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious, the linens and towels are better than a lot we’ve experienced. There are regular rooms and then a few little cottages providing more space if needed. It was quiet without noise from other rooms affecting your sleep. The owners also manage and run it themselves and provide friendly and helpful service above and beyond most places we’ve traveled. They are what makes this little gem a great place to stay, and I’ve already recommended it to friends."

"The room could have been a little cleaner. The breakfast didn’t have a ton but was able to hold us over until we got food elsewhere. The entrance/side entrance was a bit of a walk. Dog friendly! Had a mini fridge and microwave in the double queen rooms."

"It was a great time. Expect to bring an ice chest. I do wish there was a mini fridge but hey it's a twist on camping. Gotta expect some camping things. I love glamping now! They made a believer out of me. It's comfort with twist of adventure. Expect some road noise but it didnt effect my opinion of the place. This place is so clean! Host is super friendly and hospitable. We will be back!"
