The property is very clean and safe. The staff was so amazing and courteous and kind. Just wish there was some kind of breakfast or at least coffee and water in the lobby. Parking was a little strange behind the hotel only one entrance in and out so the parking was a little further to walk to.

This is a gambler's hotel where the focus is on making money off guests not visiting this unique Colorado location. We booked this expensive room to visit our son's new property and friends, to attend a 95 year historic event (Derby Donkey Days) and get a feel for this area we never visited in our 43 years of living in Colorado. Cripple Creek and our enjoyment of the location/people was worth it! Staying at the Golden Nugget was like going to a ski resort when you don't ski. Be prepared for a place where the casino life rules and it is what the hotel is all about. So, of you're into something else plan on a different way to go and stay in this area. There are other options.

While the hotel was beautiful, the entrance is not clearly marked. Took us several minutes circling in one way streets to find the hotel entrance. Als, handicap parking is across a parking lot and up a slight hill so a person with a can has a hard time if they don’t have someone to drop them at the door. Room was clean. We were told there was coffee and tea in the lobby but never found it. Staff was greatly helpful on check in
