"Great location"

"Staff were great, room was tidy. Only downside was the breakfast. Wife is gluten free and although the breakfast was labelled really well……they cross contaminated the breakfast items at the server. The chef was really helpful and cooked a separate breakfast but the cross contamination should never had happened in the first place. Putting gluten sausages with bacon to keep warm is a no no."

"We arrived just before 6pm and there were no parking spaces left. This was fine as there is a car park close by. We stayed for a gig at the Cheese & Grain but when we came back at 10.30pm the bar was already closed. We went back out & when we returned to our room there was no hot water. A cold shower it was as very sweaty post gig. We were woken repeatedly from about 4.30am by loud lorry noises in the street and then buses early on. So a poor nights sleep. "It was a lovely location at Portishead and close to many things. Due to the hot weather the bedroom was hot even with the window open all night and the fan on."

"Lovely old pub to stay at. Plenty of parking. We were there Sunday night and they have limited menu for food (roasts, fish and chips or a burger) but what we had was really good. Shout out to Jill who seemed to be every where. Dealing with check in, serving behind the bar, taking orders at the table and delivering food to tables!!! Amazing!! And to top it off a really good breakfast to see you off. Highly recommended"

"The room was clean and the breakfast was buffet style (hot and cold) with an abundance of choice. Tea, coffee and a choice of juices were available. Check out was a simple key drop."

"On arrival there was road works outside the hotel which we were unaware of. I had messaged to ask where to park but got no answer. The parking is payable across the road and behind some houses. The hotel building is very old and the bar area is quite nice. The two young lads on the bar were very nice and friendly. The room we had was in need of decoration and updating, not in good shape. We had drinking facilities provided but I’d advise take your own as the ones given were to certain tastes....

"Room was good, bed comfy, shower worked well. It’s in the middle of town so there is some noise, especially on a Saturday night, but to be expected. Checking in was easy although it would have been helpful to have two room keys. The woman on the desk did not seem entirely in the same world as everyone else. Parking can be a problem but usually can park in town square (which you need to pay for, either in cash/card or by downloading the local app). Place fairly clean, tables for breakfast...

"I had a warm welcome and my case was taken up to my room. The room was large with king sized bed. All clean, dated, but that suited the age of hotel! There was a small table with kettle and a selection of tea, coffee etc. Large en-suite with large shower. Lots of choices on breakfast menu and cooked freshly. Parking was easy. Location was excellent. 5 minutes walk to Lacock Abbey. Lacock is a very small place but very interesting."
