Excellent location right on the main tourist shopping and cafes strip. A little difficult to find as the front door was not marked. Great room and view if you get the balcony. Room was spacious for my family and beds were good.

This hotel had nobody at the site other than cleaning staff. They only serviced my room every other day while they gave me only a set of towel (3 large and small towels). While online staff was responsive, I would describe the service provided was below minimum. Also the street is one of busiest in the town and a full of activities including people shouting throughout the wee hours.

Location, Location, Location

Terrific location, difficult to locate as no hotel name posted. Had to go by street/house number. I6 step steep stair-way to entry. Self check-in, check-out with email code. Clean, large boutique style room and bathroom. Vehicles are not allowed on passageway/promenade so the taxi drop off is about 50 meters from hotel entrance.

- We didn't receive any check-in info prior to arriving. Check in code didn't work until we were given a new one. - Upon arrival, we were allotted a single room instead of two, and bed sizes were incorrect. - There were no toiletries. When I communicated to Ana, I was asked " why I didn't tell all these things to the cleaning person" when I had the chance. That is not my job nor theirs. The location is good but it is so hard to find because there is only a smal piece of paper stating it is Casa de Baixa.

On a bien aimé la chambre, mais c’est fait plus pour des couples, car la salle de bain est séparée par une vitre givrée, mais on peut savoir où est la personne dans la sale de bain. On a surtout aimé qu’il nous accommode avec nos valises avant notre Check-in. Très bien située dans la ville! Petit bémol, le mot de passe pour la chambre n’était pas marqué à la bonne place, mais on a réussi à le trouver et communication rapide avec le personnel dans la soirée pour savoir si notre Check-in s’est bien passé. Séjour parfait!

We nicknamed this place "The Cave". It was clean and comfortable enough. We did sleep great here. It was quiet. Unfortunately, all windows look out to building walls, so it was a bit claustrophobic. They did a great job renovating this space but it still needs some color or pictures on the walls might help. I did like the way they kept some old stone and used the old fireplace as the closet. It just wasn't a space I wanted to spend much time in except to sleep. Check in was easy but we never spoke to anyone. When I asked questions on how to complete the online check in forms and to clarify the check in time, I never got a response. We ended up just trying the entry code and it let us in. The bathrooms were nice, and the showers were large. Good water pressure and hot water. AC worked great. The beds are basic no frills but comfortable. This is in a great location and very walkable. Lots of restaurants close by and easy to get the hop on hop off bus. We walked up the hill and found a small little place for Fado music one night. We did enjoy our stay in "The Cave".

Bien situé au centre ville de Coimbra, l’appartement a été rénové récemment mais le mur de la chambre comporte de nombreuses traces d’humidité qui ne donnent pas un aspect sain. Le logement dont nous avons bénéficié, bien que situé en retrait de la rue, sur l’arrière cours, est très bruyant et les fenêtres ne filtrent pas assez. Nous avons eu recours aux bouchons d’oreilles pour pouvoir dormir ( les étudiants de la cité sont très bruyants le soir et tard dans la nuit). Les fournitures de base sont rudimentaires : si vous disposez d’une kitchenette, la salle de bain n’offre qu’un savon polyvalent en flacon, mais ni shampooing ni sèche cheveux. La chambre n’est pas forcément faite tous les jours (1 fois sur 2 nuits dans notre cas). On nous avait promis un sèche cheveux qui n’est jamais arrivé. L’escalier à l’entrée de l’immeuble peut être difficile pour des personnes âgées ou à mobilité difficile.

Could be so nice but...

The property is not convenient for drivers. Not sure where anyone can drop off bags without walking a couple hundred yards, even from a cab. The elevator is on the second floor so you had to haul the bags up a flight. On the high side, the location is excellent and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
