There were cockroaches in my room. We found one that went and hid behind the air conditioner when we woke up in the morning. There were numerous dead bugs on the floor around both air conditioners. I let the front desk know and they promised us a new room. The problem was we paid for a suite and they only had king rooms available. I said fine we’ll figure out the payment later because we couldn’t be stranded for a soccer tournament. The front desk told us they couldn’t do anything about a refund, that we would have to contact Expedia since we booked through them. They gave us the keys to our new smaller room, but there was another small problem. That room was occupied, and they gave us keys to that room. My patience was wearing thin at this point. We had to go wait in the bug room for a while after we had already packed everything up and wait for another room to be cleaned. While doing this, I contacted Expedia. They said they couldn’t do anything because it was a pay later booking, that the hotel would be responsible for any refunds but they would see what they could do. We got a call that a new room was ready for us so we dragged all our stuff down from the 4th floor to the lobby again, and I told the front desk that they were responsible for refunding me. They gave us a discount that equaled one night stay for our original bug room. They gave us a new room, which was smaller than the room we booked. More trouble has ensued but I’m out of characters, no resolution.
