"A beautiful hotel with engaging staff. Really appreciated the complimentary pickup and return to car rental. Breakfast excellent. Indeed no elevator but is part of preservation of heritage property. The stairs are roomy so managed (and staff helped carry up). In terrific location and restaurant recommendations were perfect. Quiet. Useable minifridge Windows open. "

We did notice that on our more casual days we received slightly different treatment from the staff in the dining room at breakfast, however the breakfast choices are incredible, the spa was exceptional, the staff I encountered and made requests or queries to were more than happy to help. "We stayed in late April 2026 (two couples). The description of this property: Location, location, location!! We were in the heart of the old city--it was fantastic! Some previous travelers expressed concern about the challenge of getting their luggage up to the property. While the concern is valid (you need to either be in shape or bring only essential luggage pieces), it wasn't a problem in our case and we were handsomely rewarded with a most memorable (in the best way possible) experience. ...

As well, we couldn’t find an open restaurant for supper anywhere within walking distance, even with the help of 3 different locals. A bar graciously provided grilled cheese and ham. Being alone in the “hotel” with no desk as expected didn’t help. The place was just not friendly and not helpful— you’re on your own!"
