A very basic hotel; however, very clean, lovely staff and a great location! We felt at home here and very connected to the Old City neighborhood! We moved here after we found bed bugs at the air b n b we were originally booked for!

Great location in the old town. Just a short walk to The Phea Gate. Lana square food court is right around the corner. I will definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Nice clean modern hotel. Good location, several places to eat a short walk away. Staff excellent, always helpful despite the occasional difficulties understanding my Scottish accent.

The hotel is really convenient and affordable. The breakfast was really nice as well. The staff are more than help full. The bed is quite hard but the refitted it with a topper in a jiffy. All in all we would definitely come back in the future.

I will preface this by saying that the staff was extremely kind and accommodating when I needed to cancel the remainder of our reservation. That said, I should have listened to other reviewers who mentioned the extremely hard and uncomfortable beds. Ultimately, this (and sub-par WiFi in the room) resulted in our changing to a different hotel. As above, the staff was great, but this wouldn't be my recommendation for those who are sensitive sleepers and need a comfortable bed!

Everything was great. Hot water pressure and temperature. AC. Elevator. Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean. No bugs or mosquitos. Safe worked. Had a useable desk and chair. This is my favorite quadrant of old town Chiang Mai Now, that bed. Blanket was fine but wow the mattress was comedically hard. No springs nor foam. Felt and sounded like a cardboard / plywood box under there. A yoga mat on concrete would have been comparable. Never felt anything quite like it. Pro Tip: hug one of the big pillows while you sleep to offset some weight with more padding. Otherwise awesome!

This hotel is very basic; but, totally charming! The location is perfect for exploring the Old City in Chiang Mai. It’s is near the night market and surrounded by numerous charming small restaurants and cafes. The staff makes you feel like family! A truly lovely experience.

For the price paid, Hotel Sumittaya fell significantly below our expectations. The only part of this hotel that is well maintained is the lobby, the rooms are in a deteriorating state. For exemple our room had rips in the bed linens, scuffed walls, stained rugs and bugs crawling on the counter. Would strongly encourage to find other accommodations.
