We attended a family wedding held at the hotel. Everything was great for our overnight stay. The staff were very helpful helping us with our luggage as due to the age of the building there are no lifts available. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. A small negative for us was the shower was in a bathtub which was a little tricky to get in/out.
Pretty hotel. We had a wonderful stay in room 121. The suite had a beautiful 4 poster and the bathroom a huge roll top bath. We visited the spa and had an excellent breakfast. Lovely stay. Will return.
Clean hotel and room with very helpful staff. Food was good quality

Excellent facilities and very clean room. Very quiet. Only downside was radiators on full all night and could not be turned down/off so very hot.

Room and bathroom clean, bed very comfortable a good heating. Staff very helpful & friendly. Attended the hotel for a works Christmas Party and the food was very nice.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The room was clean and the food in the restaurant was excellent I would highly recommend. Definitely worth a stay!
Staff were friendly and helpful, dinner delicious, and gluten free porridge available at breakfast. Our room was spacious and clean although dated. The bathroom was exceptionally cold sadly. Otherwise a pleasant stay in lovely grounds and a beautiful historic building.
Very good overall. Friendly staff, spacious rooms, good night sleep. Best steak I've had for a long time in the restaurant, although their prices have gone up quite a lot since I was last there 6 months ago. Some parts of room looking a little tired (furniture, shower, heater all looking quite battered and old) and due a refresh, but doesn't take away from overall value and good stay. I will stay again no question
Excellent location, beautiful hotel and grounds. Highly recommend it. We stayed while visiting Chatsworth House. It was a great place to stay while in the area!
The trip we had was great, the hotel had beautiful grounds and magnificent rooms. What an idyllic location to sit with your loved one and I could not complement the food or the restaurant any more. Staff were helpful and could not do enough to help. Would absolutely visit again.

Our suite was large and clean, and had we been staying for more than 1 night, the fridge and dining room table & chairs would have been well used and much appreciated.
We arrived when it was dark and, unfortunately, the grounds were poorly lit so it took a while to locate our suite number using our mobile phone torches.
The rooms smelt a bit damp and the bathroom had a slight 'eggy' smell, although everything looked clean and well kept. It was a large suite.
Unfortunately the WiFi did not reach the grounds of the suite so we were not able to log on to any film streaming apps, despite ringing through to Reception and them saying they would 'refresh it'. The main TV was not HD and the remote control buttons did not all work.
A freshen up of the grounds is needed, as it could be a beautiful property, but was virtually devoid of any spring flowers or benches to sit on. It is in need of some TLC.
The breakfast staff were pleasant, and they did provide a vegetarian sausage alternative, but we had to wait for certain hot food items to be replenished, and the croissants and pancakes never did appear.
The price of our suite and breakfast was slightly less than a local Premier Inn, and I would give this property another go but perhaps in the main hotel rather than the suite.
Stayed here for one night and was really happy. Room was clean and comfortable. Really comfy bed; really nice breakfast. Staff on reception and at breakfast really friendly and helpful.
We stayed for a last minute break with our dog. The room was spacious and clean. A lovely big bathroom. We had drinks in the bar at night and a nice breakfast the next morning. We really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely, made a fuss of our dog and made us feel more than welcome.

We only stayed one night as we were up to visit our pup for the first time. We had no serious negatives about the hotel with the only exception to a bit more character in the room. Our room was a spacious double, which was clean with a very large, comfortable kingsize. We did book a table in the restaurant and the food was extremely good. It is a shame it wasn’t as busy as we expected, specially as it was 5 days to Xmas. If you stay, I would recommend the restaurant. The food and service was very good. Breakfast did the trick for us! Overall, we will be staying again in mid January and if it was not that good, we would have stayed elsewhere. Worth noting, if you are at the far end of the hotel, it will be worth checking out the stairs downstairs before the main staircase as they are shortcuts to the bar and restaurant.

Bed was extremely comfortable and quiet and warm room but the carpet in the disabled room 117 was in need of renewing dirty marks and did not feel clean.the shower head and attachment were broken and hence I had a bad shower.the exit from this part of the building was not lit up well and i found it very difficult being disabled to see properly to get to my car.think I would not recommend or be staying again.
The lady on reception when i arrived was nice and helpful room was nice and comfortable didnt get much sleep due to the next door being sick all night then the following night got woke at 2.45am to van doors and tools neing banged and dropped when i looked out the window there was a workman making noises for ages
