"Unfortunately, our first evening meal really set the tone for the stay. Our food arrived very late, despite us ordering before several other tables who were all served first. When the meal finally arrived, it was very poor and looked rushed together. A discount was offered, but that wasn’t really the issue — the wait was simply far too long. In the end, we chose to eat elsewhere afterwards.
The room itself was nice enough, but the shower pressure was extremely weak and there was mould around the shower unit. There was also noise outside late at night from someone working on the roof, which didn’t help, although I appreciate that may not have been avoidable.
On checkout, I spoke to a member of the restaurant staff as nobody else was around. I asked whether everything was settled and if there were any extra charges. He said everything was fine. I even asked if he should check properly, but he simply asked another person having breakfast, who just grunted that it was okay.
What disappointed me most was that nobody asked how our stay had been. Had they done so, I would have happily explained politely that the mould needed cleaning and the shower pressure needed improving. Instead, I’ve ended up having to leave this review."
