Really enjoyed our stay ! Staff lovely
Really nice pub on site serving good food
Highly recommend
This place is very convenient for a visit to Hyde Hall. The four rooms are separate from the Pub where a very good breakfast is served. The room we stayed in was spacious and the bed comfortable.

A very simple but very well done room with lovely shower room
Very friendly place, very busy in bar area but accommodation separate (& quiet 😊👍)… enjoyed looking round the bar area after breakfast next day, lots of interesting items/photos etc and nice to be away from the ‘corporate’ feel that most hotels seem to have these days. I’m sure we’ll be back.
The four rooms situated around a central courtyard contain an oldy worldy charm but with modern touches and have everything you could need for a stay away. Extra touches like the largest fluffiest towels you could want, lovely smelling shower washes, a high magnification mirror and a hairdryer with a diffuser attachment were very welcome. All of this topped off with a tasty cooked English breakfast and drinks in the morning. The service is second to none, staff are extremely friendly, helpful and couldnt do enough for you. All in all a great place to stay.
Excellent service from a small business, nothing was to much trouble for the staff, and the food was great quality , we would definitely stay again if we're in the area 👏
Ridiculously small room, couldn’t open the window, and if did would have the people in the patio area virtually in my room. £100 without breakfast was very expensive for a shoe box size room
The Prince of Wales is a charming traditional pub with roaring log fires, friendly staff, a bar full of locals and a certain magic so often missing these days. The current owners, a local farming family, only recently purchased to pub to save it from extinction. It is by no means perfect but a work in progress.
My room was large with an even larger bathroom with bath, massive walk in shower, 2 basins (?) and toilet. Unfortunately within the room there was no information about the pub, it's facilities or the surrounding area which urgently needs addressing. Throughout my visit I was unable to logon to the wifi as I didn't know the password and it would have been nice to have some history of the pub both past and present. I gathered that a majority of the meat came from the owner's farm but this should be promoted in the room guide. On Monday and Tuesday they only offer a reduced menu which is very basic and I'm sure doesn't reflect the standards for the rest of the week. On my first night I had a 'bought-in" chicken pie (disappointing) whilst on my second evening I chose the homemade burger which was excellent and perfectly cooked.
The Prince of Wales, the owners and staff, are trying to keep a popular venue open and thriving. Good luck to you and I, for one, would consider returning.
