This is a budget hotel so expectation were low. I was traveling and spent one night. The check in and the woman behind the desk was fine and she was sweet and attentive. But old hotels that used to allow smoking in the rooms never get rid of the smell of old stale tobacco smoke. Instead, they use some kind of air freshener that is usually some poisonous concoction not fit for humans or anything that need air to breathe. These fresheners do not, I repeat, do not get rid of the smoke smell, they just add another layer of odor to the odor. In this hotel, I could smell it but could not see it. They did not use plug-ins. There was something in the ac unit so I had to shut it off because I couldn't stand the smell.
This message is meant for the managers who make decisions on how much money they can float to the corp hq instead of making sound decisions about what comfort is to traveling people. Your workers are not the problem. This is a management issue! I suggest you sleep in the rooms!! I'll bet you never have!!
